1. I was kind of hoping to see the Colbert clip...
Can't seem to find it on his website...

9. Yeah, that was as good as advertised.
Thanks for the link.

I used to think Bill O'Reilly was the most "pure crazy" of the right wing gas bags, but Beck is just crushing him in that department these days.

21. That was amazing. Especially when he played the audio clip of Beck trashing 9/11 victims...
I wonder why nobody else (including Stewart, TYT and Olbermann) didn't do that so far.

22. I can't speak for Stewart and Olbermann, but Cenk doesn't have a talented, well paid team
of writers.

:)

Otherwise *maybe* he would, but his delivery wouldn't be as good as Colbert's.

5. Not even LOOKING at the video - Colbert is better.
I think Stewart is an incredible producer and quick to think during interviews, but hands down, Colbert is a better performer, and his 'schtick' cuts to the bone.

To be fair, Stewart is tied down by his format, always driven by the news. Colbert, however, is ISSUE driven, and unless the story is major, isn't really 'required' to 'cover' it.

8. Overall I agree, it is John Stewart imo.
Still Steven Colbert has done some amazing things. The dinner with Bush may never be beaten for timeliness and relevancy of his delivery. I guess for me it is the one shtick thing as well that puts John over the top.

12. Apples vs Oranges.
They both are doing different things with their shows. Love them both and think they collectively carried this country through it's darkest days. I refuse to choose between the boys. My happiness demands that I have both. :P

15. Colbert is unwatchable
I realize it is satire, but If I wanted to hear a half hour of that kind of nonsense, I'd just listen to Limbaugh.

Colbert's show was funny at first because that much irony is unusual, but now it is just tedious.

16. This is like Holy Grail vs. Life of Brian
I love them both, and Stewart (and Holy Grail) get points for being the original, but Colbert ratchets up the satire to a higher level (as Brian did). So, it's Colbert for me, but obviously, these are the two best shows on TV, so finishing second in that race isn't shameful at all.

...but yeah. I can't fault either of them in the slightest, but I think JS has more staying power.

One more reason they are both great.

20. I seldom watch Colbert's show. He's funny, but his act gets old very quick.
Stewart is not perfect either. I despise all the childish photoshop things he does in his show, or the focusing on their 'reporters' instead of the news they're supposed to 'cover'. But more often than not, I enjoy the show. I'm really a fan of Stewart.

24. Gotta go with Colbert. I like Jon Stewart, too,
but Colbert makes me laugh out loud more often.

I think it's because my father used to listen to Rush Limbaugh full blast on the radio every day and I just LOVE to see Colbert skewer the right-wing talking heads day after day. It's cathartic.

26. Watch both, prefer Colbert
Stewart's humor is quite a bit more rough, or what you could call blue-collar or even low-brow at times. OTOH, you will never hear Colbert throwing around the F bomb or any other swear words as Jon often does. I can't watch Stewart when my kids are around. It's actually kind of rare these days to see a highly gifted comedian who doesn't rely on any kind of swearing. Colbert gets points for being family-friendly.
