John Aravosis Americablog stitched together the audition tapes with the actual ad from the latest Religious Right attempt to make people fear the gays getting married. Check out the lies.

2. I was just about to post this! Its fascinating. Such a great job by HRC on this.
I wonder if the actors at least have some ant-gay beliefs?
The whole thing would be even more disgusting if they didn't care either way, but were still willing to participate in such a hateful campaign.

There are two audition tapes here

I dunno. That 1st guy seems gay to me. :P

These people were chosen for their look mainly. (obviously...the acting...ugh!)

14. This isn't your average acting gig. I can't imagine saying such bullshit for such a pitiful job. It
can't pay that much.

And, yeah, I thought the same thing about that first guy.
Maybe he's another Ted Haggard?

3. What are the chances that all the same california docs. who
have to put their faith before their ethical medical duties, are also the same Massachusetts parents who have to worry about their children being exposed to other ideas about relationships? Pretty unlikely?

I am a New York pianist that thinks Bush Crime family should be in jail.
I am a Texas Brain Surgean that thinks that these actors are whores.
I am a Misouri Shoe Salesman that would like to see the last administration held accountable.
I am a Philladelphia Auto Mechanic that thinks that the Republican party is ethically bankrupt.

I think that is the reaction of ANYONE who isn't already on their bandwagon. As an "awareness tool", this ad has to be a failure.

Lies mean nothing to conservatives. Honesty and truth are just talking points.

17. The anti gay-marriage people have to lie
There isn't one solid argument against it -- so they have to lie. It's the only way they can win.
In CA, almost every interview I saw with someone in favor of Prop H8, the person being interviewed repeated some lie.
They have nothing else.

I can understand the Mormon cult lying. It's part of their theological beliefs, but Catholics and evangelicals are supposed to be against it.

20. Even more interesting than the "actors", are the people behind NOM
They are a mix of Christian dominionists, neocons, conservative/religious extremists. Robert P. George, Chuck Stetson and Luis Tellez have ties to orgs like the Council on Foreign Relations (neocon org), the Witherspoon Institute, the Wilberforce Centurion movement and the Bible Literacy Project (BLP), Stetson's "trojan horse" to sneak bible studies and Christianity into the public school system. Stetson is mega wealthy and undoubtedly is a major funding source for NOM. His family ties with Bushco go all the way back to Prescott Bush (Stetson’s grandfather was a banking colleague of Prescott Bush, the president’s grandfather). Matthew Holland, I believe, is a political science scholar from Brigham Young Univ. in Provo, UT, so he is likely the Mormon arm of this rogue's gallery.

From the NOM website: http://www.nationformarriage.org/site/c.omL2KeN0LzH/b.3479573/k.E2D0/About_NOM.htm">About NOM

NOM Personnel

Maggie Gallagher, President
In addition to serving as President of the National Organization for Marriage, Maggie Gallagher is also president of the Institute for Marriage and Public Policy (www.iMAPP.org), a nonprofit organization whose unique mission is research and public education on ways that law and public policy can strengthen marriage as a social institution.

Maggie is a nationally syndicated columnist, the author of three books on marriage (including most recently with University of Chicago Prof Linda Waite "The Case for Marriage: Why Married People Are Happier, Healthier, and Better-Off Financially"), and a leading voice of the new marriage movement. National Journal named her to the 2004 list of the most influential people in the same-sex marriage debate.

She appears frequently on major TV and radio and is frequently asked to lecture at colleges, universities and law schools. She has testified as an expert witness on marriage before the U.S. Senate and in various state legislatures. Her writings on marriage have appeared in The New York Times, The Weekly Standard, and the Wall Street Journal, as well as scholarly journals such as the Louisiana Law Review, and the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy.

Maggie is a graduate of Yale (class of '82). She lives with her husband and two children in Westchester, New York.

Brian S. Brown, Executive Director
Brian S. Brown serves as executive director of the National Organization for Marriage. Prior to coming to NOM, Brian was the executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut. During the five years he was with the Family Institute, he developed it into one of the largest statewide pro-family organizations in the Northeast.

Brian is a C. Phil. at UCLA in American History, earned his B.A./M.A. in Modern History at Oxford University, and received his B.A. in History from Whittier College. Brian and his wife Susan have six young children: Elizabeth (9), Brian (7), Anne (5), Marie (4), John (2), and Max (4 months).

Robert P. George, Chairman of the Board
Robert P. George is McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University, a member of the President's Council on Bioethics and formerly served as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. He was Judicial Fellow at the Supreme Court of the United States, where he received the Justice Tom C. Clark Award. He is the author of In Defense of Natural Law, Making Men Moral: Civil Liberties and Public Morality, and The Clash of Orthodoxies: Law, Religion and Morality in Crisis. He has published numerous scholarly articles and book reviews. Professor George is a recipient of many honors and awards, including a 2005 Bradley Prize for Intellectual and Civic Achievement and the Stanley Kelley, Jr. Teaching Award from Princeton's Department of Politics. He holds honorary doctorates of law, ethics, letters, science and humane letters. Professor George is the 2007 John Dewey Lecturer in Philosophy of Law at Harvard University. He holds degrees from Oxford University (D.Phil.), Harvard University (J.D.) and Swarthmore College (A.B.).

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Other members of the NOM board of directors include:

Neil Corkery, Treasurer
Chuck Stetson
Ken Von Kohorn

Releasing a pent up cloud of shit vapor, that it will appear as a great cloud. To some it may look like the storm of Armageddon that they are so desperately looking for.
