1. Lovely
How do people become that unhinged, yet still walk among us...presumably functioning in day-to-day life?

4. So they go ballistic in the first three months
As he points out. How do they sustain themselves throughout the next four and possibly eight years?

I mean, really--one can't maintain intensity for that length of time.

Freaking dumb#h!ts! This is right in keeping with all the other stupid mistakes they made on this "big protest."

13. It's scary to think about.
But for now I guess they're having more protests in July for the 4th.

5. I found the sign about sending our tax money to Hamas particularly ironic...
This is what Republicans imagine will happen if Obama is not stopped.

Try asking a Republican how they feel about Reagan and Bush I supplying weapons to Iran- something that actually happened in the real world- and see what they say. Go on- try it. Invariably they are able to rationalize it. I'm sure the loons at these teabag parties even believe it was all a liberal conspiracy to try and destroy America. And even if it did actually happen (which is not always proven to their satisfaction) it's still less objectionable than getting blowjobs in the Oval Office.

7. SEDITION BY THE REPUBS
Sedition is a term of law which refers to covert conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal authority as tending toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws. Seditious words in writing are seditious libel. A seditionist is one who engages in or promotes the interests of sedition.

Because sedition is typically considered a subversive act, the overt acts that may be prosecutable under sedition laws vary from one legal code to another. Where those legal codes have a traceable history, there is also a record of the change of definition for what constituted sedition at certain points in history. This overview has served to develop a sociological definition of sedition as well, within study of persecution.

The difference between sedition and treason consists primarily in the subjective ultimate object of the violation to the public peace. Sedition does not consist of levying war against a government nor of adhering to its enemies, giving enemies aid, and giving enemies comfort. Nor does it consist, in most representative democracies, of peaceful protest against a government, nor of attempting to change the government by democratic means (such as direct democracy or constitutional convention).

Put simply, sedition is the stirring up of rebellion against the government in power. Treason is the violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or state and has to do with giving aid to enemies or levying war. Sedition is more about encouraging the people to rebel, where treason is actually betraying the country. Sedition laws somewhat equate to Terrorism and Public Order laws.

History

Sedition in its modern meaning first appeared in the Elizabethan Era (c. 1590) as the "notion of inciting by words or writings disaffection towards the state or constituted authority". "Sedition complements treason and martial law: while treason controls primarily the privileged, ecclesiastical opponents, priests, and Jesuits, as well as certain commoners; and martial law frightens commoners, sedition frightens intellectuals."

6. Rec #5.
I hope the Secret Service is all over these people. What happens if they do actually organize enough to become some sort of threat?

Could that happen? I think a small number of them certainly could do some damage. The rhetoric coming from the media they consume, which only thrives on this type of right-wing hate, only supports their warped and ignorant views. I believe it is reasonable to consider them threats to national security.

There have been many signs with literal threats at these rallies, and the rhetoric is flat out revolutionary. If what these signs contain isn't considered a threat to the President and the Republic, what is?

14. I totally agree
Very worrisome indeed. I sincerely hope the Secret Service area all over this, too.

What if they do start putting words into action when their racist frustration boils over?

Unfortunately I missed this one and am not in time to rec but I've given it 5 stars and fave'd it, here's a kick to get it some more views on here...
