John Russell, 2006 and 2008 Democratic nominee for Florida's 5th Congressional District stops in to address the Tampa Tea Party sponsored by area Conservatives, Republicans and of course primarily orchestrated by the FreedomWorks PAC of Dick Armey's Creation.

A crowd estimated at close to 1,500 people were in attendance.

John addresses the very conservative crowd winning them over with his eye opening first hand accounts and insights into his experience as a candidate and how the major party structure of American politics is fatally flawed.

Americans are saddled with a two party system that is racked with corruption relatively "legal" though it may be.

John hopes that his experience can help his fellow citizens to understand and address the primary mechanism behind WHY our nation is in such disrepair.


John discusses a prime example of "WHY" as he describes his interactions with a political consultant from Washington DC in 2006 who was asking John to trade his political integrity for campaign contributions in return for "working with" the pharmaceutical industry.

John would have been then a traitor to his advocacy for a national single payer health care plan. :toast:

7. John Might Have A Chance After Re-Districting. The Repubs Have to Shrink District 5!

District 5 had 50,000 more votes cast than in any other congressional district in Florida in 2008. Likely that they will move the SUPER RIGHT WING Villages area in Lake County into Allan Grayson's district which is adjacent to District 5 to try and knock him off in 2012. John will keep his name out there rabelrousing against the IDIOTS and CROOKS from both sides and developing solutions for many of our most pressing issues. :)

Is that how your typical Congressman gets "vetted"?

Do you not even get a shot at the brass ring until you "make some promises"? If that's the case, no WONDER Congress is a bunch of scared wimps. You never even SEE the decent guys.

I was a little concerned about his rhetoric, though. The "Florida Democrat Party"? Either he's trying to suck up to his audience or he's.... I don't know what yet.

John is entirely accurate. The Florida Democratic Party is soooo pathetically weak because its leadership is sooo pitifully corrupt that Florida will always be a dawg unless the Progressives overthrow the crooks.

John helped to expose the State Chair karen Thurman a few years ago after an article that was published in the Miami Herald exposed her shenanigans in taking money from the former chair of the state Republican Party Al Cardenas. $3,500/month!

16. I'm thinking that this isn't just a Florida problem

The "system" is nationwide. It's called the DLC.

And as far as I'm concerned, the DLC has a lock on every state race, either overtly or covertly.

And if it's not the DLC, it's the GOP, providing dirty opposition to those they don't like and tacit support for those they don't consider to be a threat.

Either way, it doesn't represent what the people REALLY want.

The people have no choice in the matter.
