1. I'm sorry...
I know vandalism is wrong...But HATE and ANTI-SCIENCE are far worse and actually cost human lives! Screw the damn statue as I see no difference in that statue or the rebel flag! They both stand for ignorance, hate and the past! I see poetic justice in offing the head of hate, ignorance, and the past!

2. Really

Can't they run down to the local lawn ornament store and get a new one? It's not like it was a work of art or anything.

It's like when someone vandalizes your rainbow flag....you just get another one.

Besides, how do they know it's not an act of God?

I kinda like the plastic bag. Surreal.

3. You, too, can reach this prime demographic.
Or is DU rebranding itself as a hate group? Judging from the early responses to this thread, the answer seems to be, "Yes."

7. I agree. The previous responses are pretty abhorrent.

4. I hated when the

Taliban did this to the giant Buddha statues, and I hate that someone would do this to their neighbours. If you really disagree with religion (and I certainly do!) you win the argument with words, not with cheap acts of vandalism. This sort of behavior will be blamed on atheists, and that pisses me off.

It just isn't nice. Rightly or wrongly, this statue meant something to the parishoners. They'll never listen to criticism of their beliefs if they percieve of the critics as acting this way.

Probably a deranged teenager or something. Still, property should be respected.
