2:30 minutes in, before he sings "Blackbird" (which is about the civil rights movement) he talks about Obama. Not only does he mention him - but during his sonf "Sing The Changes" there's a picture of Obama on the screen behind him! Click the entry for a picture of it:

Video of the Obama song will be up soon...

6. California is blue on the coast, and red inland.
It's blue overall because anyone with any sense wants to live near the coast.

I heard only one guy booing very clearly, actually and alot of cheers. Probably the guy sitting next to the camera because it was pretty clear, as opposed to the rest of the audience reaction, whiched sounded mixed, but much in favor of cheering than booing. So, I have 3 points to make.

a) Who cares, it is good for a society to be allowed to boo if they disagree and cheer if they don't. No leader should have 100% following anyway, this is not a dictatorship. Dissent is encouraged and it keeps policies from going too far in either direction.
b) It is a concert and people come to have a good time and get away from work, politics, bills, etc.
c) Who cares.

9. The difference is that it is the OP doing the booing
The video is put up on youtube by this Adam whatever dude, and the booing is being done by whoever is holding the camera along with some folks around him. So the OP should have said, "Obama got booed by me and my buds at Coachella!11!!1!"

Nothing wrong with dissent, but this is not what you'd call an unbiased reporter at the scene -- more like a Sean Hannity supporting the teabaggers type.

8. Give me a break
Obama hits at about 60% in the public approval polls, right?

That means at least 40% of the population is less enthused.

Do you think all of these folks should go hide under a rock somewhere?

Lets leave it to the rePukes to stifle free speech in protection of their "leaders" sensitive ears.

A politician from Chicago isn't likely to be too hurt that someone doesn't like him.

Get real.

11. The Beatles and political activism. Together in one sentence.
This is not a repeat from the last half century.

But come on. Who doesn't expect an ex Beatles member to mention something along these lines?

17. I think we have to watch this closely. There always playing games to make in roads into Cali even>
Edited on Sun Apr-19-09 08:20 PM by cooolandrew
if they did manage to fracture Cali by divide and conquer which I don't think they are going to manage the majority of the country have had enough, even with tea bag malarky. Their day is done, time they accept defeat with at least a vague amount of grace, as their way has proved false. The whole prop 8 wasn't even about gay folk it was political maneuvering for 2012 which is clear in how there was so much misleading adverts on the vote, we shouldn't buy their games even for a second and keep rolling out progress till they can't roll back.

16. Law of averages you'll get some right wing nuts anywhere you go>
clearly though they dont' get the beetles message at all. "All you need is love" "give peace a chance". If you're a right wing crazy a McCartney concert probably isn't your thing. The boo sounded pretty isolated heard many cheers there.
