It's nice not to feel that sickening feeling every time our President steps up to the mic to speak to the American (or other) people. Just had to say that.

2. Obama wants the U.S. to serve on the U.N. Human Rights Commission

because he thinks we provide an example for the world to follow and he is concerned about the prisoner issues in Cuba and elsewhere, but he doesn't want to prosecute Americans who tortured detainees -- who had not yet been indicted and who were shackled. President Obama, if we are going go claim the moral highground on human rights, we need to enforce our own laws regarding human rights first -- and that begins with prosecuting members of our government, military and justice system who violate international and American law and the Constitution when it comes to issues such as torture, search and seizure and habeas corpus rights just to name a few important issues.

In other words, President Obama put your money where your mouth is on the subject of human rights.
