1. I don't think Nazi's were shinning people

But you might, although I think their actions were evil.

I do agree they were people doing evil things, and in that maybe we should look at the techniques of deception, control, lack of empathy, that was used to deceive them into such evil.

2. Well I consider cruelty to animals a form of evil

and it goes on everywhere. I know many people think humans are above animals. However the Nazis probably thought very highly of themselves and as superior. What changes about human beings is the mores of the society.

3. I think her point is that ordinary people are capable of evil things. That

to me is much scarier than that obviously evil people are the only ones capable of doing evil things. That means that I could for some reason be a part of terrible evil. As a German American I have always shuddered at the prospect that if my ancestors had not immigrated to the USA I might have been a part of that hell that took place in those days. It also makes me extra sensitive when people in this country spout hate theories without realizing they are inciting others to do these crimes.
