4. Members of Congress were briefed and told not to speak.
Dubya & Co. classified their torture as TOP Secret. Of course, the Congress can't say anything or they get prosecuted by a corrupt DOJ. Good ol' Walnuts should change his diaper, I think he's got a rash since his buddies have stopped wiping his ass. Time for the heat to be turned up on these assholes!
9. And no one seems to be remembering that some Republican
members of Congress were briefed. I wonder who they were and why they did not say anything? Was McCain one of them? Which Republicans in Congress were told? And when?
5. McCain is a very confused guy. He is NOT QUALIFIED to be
a senator. Doesn't have the background knowledge, intelligence, or curiosity that's necessary to be an effective public servant. To make matters worse, he hasn't learned much in his nearly 30 years on the job.
8. Setting a precedent for the future is precisely why we need
to confront these crimes with courage. McCain is showing what a partisan hack he is. If a Democratic president had done something deplorable -- say something really awful like hanky-panky in the Oval Office with an intern, then McCain's outrage would be much less intense. McCain is defending the indefensible.
This will set up a precedent and next time lawyers advising the president will not make the mistake of trying to bend the rules to satisfy their master as Gonzalez and the others did.
It needs to be investigated and those responsible must be made accountable so that it will not happen again. Maybe McCain had some involvement and is afraid he will fall with the gang?
Has anyone asked themselves what the situation would be if it had been the democrats who were responsible for all the mess? Would the repubs be singing the same tune? I don't think so.
If this forces the lawyers to think twice before giving advice that is contrary to US Law, then I hope it is as chilling as possible. If the lawyers and the people receiving the advice are doing everything according to the law then they have nothing to be "chilled" about.
