Jonathan Turley on Olbermann
Brilliant taunt (JMCO - just my cynical opinion). If the GOPers are so sure that Waterboarding is NOT torture then let the Special Prosecutor be assigned!

2. wow! those memos just scream torture - and those facts collapse the argument that the B*sh Adm. is
trying to use, and man oh man, they did war crimes and these sicko jerks need to face the courts for it.

3. My concern is that if there is a special prosecutor we will never
hear the full story.
Open hearings, prosecution and lock these sobs up.

4. Turley Is CORRECT... There's Absolutely No Question About This...
I don't care WHO wants this ignored, Democrat, Repuke, Indie, Green anyone! FWIW, I won't support ANYONE who feels this isn't extremely important.

Everyone keeps telling me there are more important things that are on the table, and that's true, but tell me, WHAT ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION?? The Geneva Convention or any other document that this country was founded on that says, WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS???

JMHO!

5. Bush Crime family is toast. They have no defense.
Here's why. There is a story on TO right now on how DOJ prosecuted a sheriff and 3-associates in Texas who waterboarded suspects for a confession. THEY WENT TO PRISON! That was in 1983 in Reagans Justice Department. So if it was illegal then, how is it legal now? Bush and Dick are toast. Same applies to all their minions: Dummy, Condy, Wolfy, Gonzo...all of them.

10. I HEARD About The Story "Somewhat" As I Was Cooking Dinner, But
am NOT sure I caught all the specifics. Did I or did I not hear that THE IDIOT actually prosecuted someone in Texas regarding the same issue? I know I heard his name, but I may have this out of context. He wasn't Governor then, just some flunky who ran Arbusto into the ground along with his BASEBALL team back then!

A failure ALL his life who I feel was only picked when Lawton Chiles won the Governorship over JEBBY, who was "the chosen one" making JEBBY run for Governor AFTER Chiles left! I'm sure many know the story about that one, and as one who lives in Florida, that JEBBY lost was not only a slap in the face to him but an overwhelming embarrassment! I've ALWAYS felt JEBBY thought he had it in the bag so they may not have felt a real need to tamper with THAT election!! What a GLORIOUS victory that was for Democrats, but then Bob Graham is so respected here and pulled a LOT of weight too! I SOOOOOOOO miss him!

I could tell MANY stories about 2000 here, but there's a plethora of information already, but my first hand recollections will remain with me FOREVER!! I've said many times I want to write about what I saw and felt then and I NEED to for my kids and grandkids, just haven't done it yet. Of course, it's just a "personal" story, but has much truth to it IMHO! I watched the returns that night, county by county and watched vote dumping that astounded me. I still have the tally results by county stored on a disk to refer to.

I'll stop my rant, just got carried away as I USUALLY do about THIS subject. They say "things" happen for a reason and maybe they REALLY do, even with all the damage done! We dodged a ball regarding Lieberman and that much is satisfying, but BFEE still MUST pay the piper!!!

6. Just remember
Even if Jane Harman, Jay Rockefeller, Nancy Pelosi, Tom Daschle, Harry Reid and B. Graham knew EVERY DETAIL of this program, G.W.Bush, C. Rice, D. Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney would STILL BEAR THE BRUNT OF THE PUNISHMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ARCHITECTS OF TORTURE. I say we start investigations from the grunt up and get testimony for immunity from them on their superior officers and you will without a doubt find out it leads all the way to El Smirko and SO?. The death penalty is proscribed for this offense and I will press for that if they are proven guilty. That's change we can believe in.

11. I DO Agree With Your Assessment & I KNOW B. Graham Stood His Ground
and voted against "green-lighting" this crap and for that my respect remains in tact. I have often wondered if this was one of the reasons why he left politics. I am aware that he's made statements since that time and I wish he would have pushed the envelope right in their faces! I wonder if he will tell what he knew and/or knows now.

I have NO respect for DiFi, Harmon or Reid, but thought Rockefeller and Daschlele were stand up people. While for me the jury is still out regarding Pelosi one may NEVER know what any of them truly knew. When Dashele lost his election, even back then there was "funny business" connected to him, which in fact was a factor to his loss. Knowing that Daschele was one of the FIRST to promote Obama, I now feel he did so because the Kennedy name was so prominent and he may have felt it was his "ticket" back to high office! Daschele was another that really surprised me because I was one of his fans for a long time.

The Democrats will probably get away with a certain amount of deniability, and deep down I think they may not have known how devastating it was to become, still it seems to me that the only one that had any REAL spine at the time was Graham! Don't forget, there WAS information out there that was reported on by Greg Palast BEFORE the 2000 election that should have alerted those in HIGH office! Money, expediency and getting re-elected came first for far too many Democrats. I'm conflicted at times about this, knowing that the Democrats feel the need to be elected simply to maintain control, but as a BOOMER there are times that I feel "buying" an election is so repulsive!

THEY ALL DO IT I know, however our system needs ELECTION REFORM that I don't feel we will ever get. And yes, it has gone on since FOREVER! We just need to condense the time frame and put limits on MONEY... just as a start! If the UK can run elections as they do, then it should be something we can take lessons from!

JMHO again!

I'm going to the BEACH now to get a tan... got all worked up here!

7. K&R to the greatest
Yeah, if they weren't doing anything wrong, why did they hide it (and continue to fight it even now?)

9. We Need a Left Wing Ken Starr
You know if the shoe were on the other foot, the Repugnant maniacs would have had there perverted-justice stooge Ken Starr out there warping our legal system to the far Right from the get-go.

So, for balance, we need a left-wing lunatic "independent" prosecutor of the Ken Starr variety to be sure these criminals find a nice prison cell to call home.

Bush? Cheney? Gonzalez? Ashcroft? What a bunch of weaklings. Of course, unprincipled people who didn't have a clue what to do in the face assaults by our enemies went right for torture. Since they had no ideas at all, there was no place else to go.
