From posting at WhiteHouse: 'The President makes clear that as Congress works through health care reform legislation, it must include fundamental changes that lower costs, ensure Americans have choices, and establish access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans. But what we can't welcome, the President says, is reform that just invests more money in the status quo reform that throws good money after bad habits.'

So supporters of single payer are at the table? That's news to me.

2. I RECOMMENDED THIS

I think everyone needs to listen and decide if their
expectations are being met. We know that Baucus has excluded
single payer from the discussion. Personally, I think that is
a travesty. I will keep letting my reps, and my president know
that I support "Single Payer." I despise political
double-talk, although it is nice to hear a President who can
speak english.

Let them know you support HR676 (single payer introduced by
Kucinich, I believe)

3. I can't beleive....
...that he even uttered the phrase 'everyone is at the table' when that has NOT been the case. Looks like he hasn't been paying attention to the BS Baucus has been doing otherwise, Obama would not have made that 'bold statement' when it is a factual error.

Me thinks his speech writer should pay MORE ATTENTION to the reality of what is going on.

No, I am not 'bashing' Obama but merely pointing out a false statement so please don't go there...

5. I Hope So
If this is actually true, the game would be over - in a reality based contest. Single payer advocates have facts and logic totally on their side. The other side has piles of cash and nothing else. If they remain the last western country to cling to a corrupt for profit system - well if that isn't bribery, plain and simple, I don't know what is.

I will say this, in listening to the angst and anger filled calls yesterday to Thom Hartmann and big Ed, I think they carry the water for the leeches sucking us dry, insurance companies and big pharma at their own peril - and I think they are just beginning to grasp this in Washington.
