The controversy is that some in the MSM/Old Media think Pitney's question was a White House plant. You can . President Obama should let TWO bloggers ask questions at every press conference before calling on the MSM.
That will help to knock the MSM down a peg or two ;)
The MSM acts like they are 'owed' something special and at times they forget that they are just the 'reporters' and that it is the President that is the 'important' person at those press conferences.

Most of the on line news sites have more people doing real reporting then the Old MSM.

I would hazard to guess that more people get their news from Huffington Post throughout the day than from Chuck Todd.
