Seriously, I wouldn't put the idea of dressing up like Minotaurs past some of these torture enthusiasts. I really don't think Dwight K. Schrute is that far of a stretch.

I didn't realize it at first, but I did the exact same thing. If this is not a testimony to the lowpoint that we have reached in political discourse, I don't know what is. I also use the term lowpoint pretty loosely here, because the one thing that can say for sure is that we have not hit a lowpoint yet.

Was it because of that one time when you told all of your friends about a "news story" from the Onion that you thought was real? The reality is, if we are going to refuse to post anything that "pretends to be news, but isn't", we would also have to say No to any Fox news clips.

Seriously, though, if you are going to take a stance on Onion News stories, why chose this one? It is brilliant satire and very relevant to the news you see today. Think about it for a moment....They are talking about using a Minotaur for torture and the exact conversations that they are having mirror perfectly the lines of reasoning that you see on just about any talking head show that covers torture.

on how insane the debate has become - how the MSM obfiscates the torture debates - and how blonds (Liz Cheney) defends war crimes. True recapitulation of the torture debate - just substitute raping a victim's family member/water-boarding/sleep deprivation, etc. for labarynth/minotaur.

Often satire contains more content than discourse. I am thankful for artists - there is more than one way to communicate.
