This attempt to curtail abortion even further than the Hyde amendment...she and Jeff Sharlet left no doubt the roots to push this Stupak amendment went very deep into the party and The Fellowship.

Sharlet thinks Pitt is mostly behind it as a long time member of The Family. He said no one ever said Stupak was the "brightest bulb on the porch." Thinks they used him to push it forward.

"The Family" is an absolute must-read. I've got another 75 pages or so to go, and it's utterly mind-boggling. He traces the roots of fundamentalism which has steadily crept more and more into our politics toward a theocracy. And it ain't just Republicans - Hillary's in there, too. A very, very important book, and our country owes Jeff a lot for writing it.

It's a tricky one because not everyone religious will be a fundie, so it'll take careful vetting before voting. We need some home made investigative journalism on all candidates state and federal at least get them on record for folks to find on youtube. The positive though is the reason they feel they need to infiltrate the Democratic party is Republicans fading out of existence.
