2. "Where were you born"?......I was asked this by some turd with a badge in a New Jersey

airport, of all places, coming from a Puerto Rican vacation. I'm not Puerto Rican (and they're American citizens anyway) and of entirely "Euro" ancestry.

What made this particularly weird were two things: One: Location..This was freaking Newark!..Two: I'm Irish and Croatian with light skin, auburn hair, brown eyes and a wide-ish face. Both sides of my family have been in America for over a century....I'm not "waspish" looking, but most folks take me for either Italian or Polish -- hardly "exotic" ethnicities on the East Coast!

Being somewhat shocked, I could only respond weakly: "Philadelphia". He didn't question me further, but continued to look suspicious...I can only assume that he transferred to NJ from some white-bread backwater for a government job.

This experience felt embarrassing and demeaning, especially since my blue-eyed blond companion was NOT questioned.

I can only imagine how the folks in Arizona feel, some being in the Southwest longer than those "unsuspicious" Anglos.

4. One of my all time favorite movies

The thing about the movie was that it seemed pretty much improbable. It has a new meaning now.

Now, that movie is all I can think about every time they talk about the insane AZ laws. It's truly ridiculous.
