Sen. Nelson: 'This is going to change our way of life'!

He says the whole culture of the coast affected by this is going to change.

He also says it means, if true, they will have to dig deeper to get to the leaks in the well.

'There will be so much oil' ~

It is heart-breaking and no one knows what to do. So why was it ever allowed in the first place?

2. I saw this earlier at FDL,
and my stomach has been in more knots than it has been these past few weeks.

I keep trying to remind myself that he did say, if this is true.

3. Yes, he said it was new information they are hearing.
They messed with nature and they had no plan to handle something they knew was a possibility. And the Government trusted them, a foreign Oil Company with our national security.

BP is not the only culprit here. The entire U.S. Government who either turned a blind eye to this, or who supported it without insisting on a method of handling such a disaster are responsible.

It's not as if they did not think it was possible. They knew it was and they didn't care.

6. The media, once again being led instead of leading.
So many questions that haven't been answered, like why did the Bush/Cheney Republican Congress grant permits for deep water drilling when there was no way to deal with a disaster like this? Why have they not looked into the fact that this kind of drilling has escalated over the past ten years and do some research on who is responsible and why the government did not have a back up plan in the event of what they knew was a potential disaster?
