A 22-mile-long invisible mist of oil is meandering far below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico, where it will probably loiter for months, scientists reported Thursday in the first conclusive evidence of an underwater plume from the BP spill.

1. Just heard about that on Norm Goldman's show. 22 mi long, 1 mile wide and 650 feet deep, and
all several thousand feet below the surface! If it appears to be isolated, wouldn't there be a way to pump it out of there?

2. I've been yelling "What about the plumes?" at my TV for some time now.
It is surreal that it hasn't been mentioned for weeks now.
