As the latest Wikileaks revelations continue to reverberate around the world, the man at the centre of it all is facing a legal backlash.

Julian Assange,The Wikileaks website founder, is now the subject of an Interpol red notice, which calls for member countries to assist in his arrest.

The US is considering pressing charges against Assange for espionage.

Al Jazeera English's Bhanu Bhatnagar takes a look at his legal position.

Edited to add another video on this from AJ English...

US mulls legal options against WikiLeaks

What legal repercussions will Wikileaks and its founder, Julian Assange, face? Assange is neither a US citizen nor a resident, so the extent of the reach of US law is in question.

Al Jazeera English's Mike Hanna reports on what legal recourse the US government has in dealing with Assange in the wake of the embarrassing leak of the diplomatic cables.

1. Pretty bad state of affairs when DoJ calls reporting "espionage".
That alone tells something about how co-opted our media is.

And how is it that the NYTs is not also taking any heat? Aside from the fact that they aren't independent in any way. They also handled classified material with the intent to release it to the public.

2. Another small point: Julian didn't give an interview with Time
for the purpose of calling for Clinton to resign. He was responding to a direct question.

But our corrupt media only play his response, likely in an effort to make him seem menacing. I know it was an answer because I saw the same clip with a proper set up on Amy's show.

3. I really wish him the best.
It's an outrage that so much energy goes into this,
and none into the super-criminals who are walking around free & rich.
