I know this isn't exactly political, but I found this very moving, and didn't know that his death was announced on Monday Night Football. I found this very moving.

told us how important John Lennon was.

Ol' Howard may have been a caricature, but he did have a heart and a brain.

He showed that with his support of Muhammad Ali.

It must've been really tragic for many Lennon/Beatles fans to learn about his death by watching a football game.

The musical icon death of my generation? Michael Jackson. I learned about that by watching The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer live; Jackson died during the middle of that newscast.
