2. i can't see the video, but i do want to add that it is quite insightful

of the Young Turks to call it "'Hostage' Negotiations."

we are hostages.
and Obama has done amazingly well at eking out progress while keeping us and any shred of a remaining economy alive through it.

it is still true. we are hostages, and there is more than plenty they can do to harm us. and we can be certain the president has been told in no uncertain terms just how much that is so.

4. I agree with Obama

If people who are sitting on a boat load of money start screaming.."fight to the end, who cares who is hurt", well so sorry I'm not for that. We all know that the Republicans are taking the purse string in Jan. Does anyone doubt that they wouldn't have held back the extension of unemployment benefits? Now consider this. When this proposal comes up for a vote, the tea party says they are voting no because the unemployment extensions attached !! Then consider all the cuts that the Republicans and Tea Party people have in mind to reduce the debt. Tax credits like Child Care, Earned Income and others will be on their wish list. Obama saved those credits.
It seems to me that Obama is coming from the point of view of those who are at the bottom rung of the latter and those who sit in judgment and condemn his actions are coming from the upper end of that latter. More worried about the rich staying in the same tax bracket, than they are the people who are struggling, as Obama says, right now..today.
