Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean we'll miss you Until we meet again

Goodbye, Elizabeth

3. We are lesser for her passing.

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

These famous words by John Donne were not originally written as a poem - the passage is taken from the 1624 Meditation 17, from Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions and is prose.

5. That is one of the most beautiful pieces of writing on
death and how it affects all of us. What a deep thinker Donne was. It always make me cry when I read that.

'Each man's death diminishes me for I am involved in Mankind'

4. Beautiful!
What a wonderful woman.

Many of us who supported John Edwards were won by Elizabeth's radiant smile and graciousness even more than we were by John Edwards.

My heart goes out to all of Elizabeth Edwards' loved ones.

7. You're welcome. I wish I could remember the name of the song
used in the background. It is very haunting .....

9. Thank you, I knew it but did not know who performed it
I wanted to look up the lyrics, so I really appreciate your link. It really is beautiful :-)

"My Immortal"

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

So sad ~
