Fmr. Republican Governor Christie Whitman takes the Republican obstructionism to task and deals more than a few blows towards one Miss Sarah Palin. She also refuses to support her outright, even if she were the GOP nominee, saying:

"She'd have to show me a lot more than I've seen thus far, as far as an understanding of the depth and the complexity of the issues that we face. I mean I don't know her personally so I can't comment on that, I mean she was a governor, but the fact that she left office before even completing her first term, it's just not an attitude that I think is necessarily in the best interest of your constituents, rather what's in your best interest."

1. If more Republicans were like Christie Todd Whitman we wouldn't be in this quagmire we are in.
I don't always agree with her, but she does have a level of integrity, intelligence and an understanding of how government works and what its purpose is that is entirely lacking in the current gopper office holders. She, and not Palin, is the best chance for a coherent and cogent future for the Republican Party if they hope to survive. I hope they do figure that out. We, as a country, actually do need at least two viable political parties that don't cater to wingnuts for monetary gain and political power.
