48. Sailors deserve more respect
The phrase is now officially "spending like a drunken legislator".

Example: "When the ship in port for a few days all the sailors go into town and spend like drunken legislators."

It's the Admiralty spending the enlisted sailors money, and the sailors have to buy liquor made in China.

5. I agree.
I honestly think he has some serious problems, and he uses alcohol to cope with them. When he has to give interviews, stand up in congress and be serious, etc. he has be sober enough not to slur "all" his words, or make a fool of himself so he cuts back. This is what causes the emotional outbreaks. This man should never be third in line to be president, never in a million years!

to alcoholics and the crying fits by this guy. Please, an empathy for those suffering from alcoholism. A disease I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Too many of you are speaking as if you know something about the disease. If you do,shame on you for comparing the illness of

these people to the waterworks of this guy.

The View had one very pertinent point when Hasselbeck(sic) opened her big mouth again and jabbered her defense of this man by

talking about jobs when Joy stated that he was the one trying to prevent what he crying over. Of course a break came.

8. Something is wrong with Boehner..he's really mental.
So much for the American dream. People can work for years to achieve their version of the American dream, only to get sick, lose their job and then sell their home/car to pay medical bills. Oh, but soon we'll be paying almost $2,000 a month for healthcare insurance...then everyone will have healthcare. :sarcasm:

Wow..Barbara Walters is 81! I know she's had her face worked on, BUT look at her body, no visible sign of osteoporosis and she's so on the ball still.

15. He doesn't just get a little teary...
He really loses it! He has trouble keeping himself from a shoulder-shaking, all out crying jag. He isn't just getting emotional, he's on the verge of losing his composure. I'm glad Barbara called him out. It's very strange that he does this a lot. I'd rather watch an endless loop of GW Bush's teary moments than spend 30 seconds watching Boehner embarass himself like he does so often. The fact that he's unable to keep himself from breaking down when he gets near the topic of his hard, hard upbringing (walking to school in the snow, uphill, both ways with no shoes) or his accomplishments points to the fact that either he's unstable or he's a sloppy drunk.

These are not mutually exclusive.

And there's Elizabeth chirping up "The tax cuts will create jobs".

We've had 10 years of them and look where we are. Two more years and they'll start working, right?

When is the whole GOP gonna get over its emotional problem and realize that ITS IDEAS DON'T WORK... for the average American. Works like a dream for the already wealthy.... except it's undermining them too.

29. Talk about emotional!!!
Elisabeth gets so worked up when anyone criticizes a repug. Today, she automatically went into the tired old GOP talking points - ones she heard this morning on Fox and Friends - and accused Joy of saying Boehner was a bad guy. What Joy said was that he only starts crying when he talks about himself. Elisabeth immediately got shrill and shouty and started talking over the rest of the panel which she does quite a lot. Barbara gave her a shut-the-fu*k-up look when she kept up her rapid-fire, strident defense of Boehner.

I guess Elisabeth has never seen a video of herself acting like an over-emotional shrew, which she does whenever politics enters the discussion. She drives me insane because she is so intellectually dishonest and all she does is repeat the shit you can hear on Hannity, Beck, Greta, O'Reilly and Rush. She just is so obnoxious and defensive when she parrots these lies.

It's kind of fun watching her practically have an aneurysm when anyone says anything remotely unfavorable about Sarah Palin, She's like a pitbull - attack, attack, attack. Sometimes the rest of the panel will all just stop talking and she just keeps yipping until she wears herself out.

40. leave it to Republicans to turn a man crying from
"unfit for a President" in 1972 into "Hey, here's a great guy!"

Kinda like how all the statements by lefties about our vanishing liberties being ignored WERE IGNORED until some conservative homophobe gets media attention for freaking out over "touching my junk" and SUDDENLY it's okay to question the government's overreach in security measures (mainly because a Democrat was in the White House at the time the measure was put in place).

74. Actually, it's a compound sentence
lacking a subject pronoun and an omitted comma after the word "junk".

Or, It's a complex sentence with a comma omission after the word "junk".

Or maybe, If you capitalize "unfit" put a comma after "guy", small cap "kinda" and put a comma before "and", you might have a pretty good compound-complex sentence. But I'd get a second opinion from an English teacher to be sure. :)

get a chance at the America dream like I, grp, snffm fppp, did....."

- K&R (gulp)

"The mendacity of American capitalism is once again so clearly visible that most adults, with or without a “higher” education, can see it. That the “lower classes” blame the “higher classes” for it is not surprising, since they see that mendacity seems to be one powerful ingredient of “higher” education.

It’s not a new condition but one that is historically habituated. Most of the people who came here from Europe were pushed into it by destitution. They came determined to “make a better living.” For them, capitalism was “freedom” and “liberty”—the freedom to steal land from the “Indians”, the “liberty” to tolerate the importation and slavery of Africans for decades, followed by more decades of racial discrimination. They accepted unjust competition and the build-up of huge personal fortunes as “inevitable”. With the exception of the Civil War and the labor rebellions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, they did not struggle to change things. They just moved West—until the West ran out.

When they were told by their overlords that they must fight wars because “communism” and “socialism” would “take over”, they did not have the mental tools necessary to unmask the deceit and evaluate the overall situation more accurately. Besides, they were afraid because they knew the “isms” were complicated, and they were ignorant—and helpless.

Even today a large proportion of the population still believes in social and political injustice. They still are mainly interested in their own well-being and are misled by their unflagging hope that they can “improve” their condition, most often meaning “make more money.”

The system of capitalism feeds on these attitudes and fights against anything that refutes them. A measure of how insecure capitalism is, how vulnerable and frightened of falling on its face, is the degree to which media and surveillance must be used to constantly brainwash and frighten “the public” and prop up this rickety structure.

It’s a top-heavy house of cards, and can’t help itself because it has separated itself from balance, criticism, originality and change. ~ http://www.truthdig.com/report/page2/the_origin_of_americas_intellectual_vacuum_20101115/#366695">By gerard

56. OMG I'm glad I watched this. It looks like he's fucking falling apart, not just crying.
That's fucking freaky. I'm all for people showing their emotions and stuff- but this kind of total collapse isn't so much crying as something...dude, I dunno...something else.

61. That token blonde conservative woman bugs me to no end.
OT-I find it funny how she thinks the * tax cuts create jobs. Where the hell are the jobs then? They've had those tax cuts for what, something like nine years now? Demand creates jobs, poor and middle class with extra money create demand, because we frickin' spend it. I got nothing more to spend or save, it all goes to necessities.

Also if the oil companies weren't gouging us I'd have more to spend on useless Chinese plastic crap. Can't we make our own useless plastic crap? AMERICAN made useless plastic crap for AMERICAN jobs NOW dammit!

I'll stop now, I wouldn't wanna make Boner cry.

62. Boehner/Beck
Someone should get Boehner and Beck together on a talk show and introduce some topic that would be bound to get them emotional. Lead in with a question about the American Dream to Boehner and that would be guaranteed to get him started. I would almost guarantee that Beck would then start to get all choked up and then the fun would start. It would be hilarious to watch them as they progressed from weeping and wailing and sobbing together to being out of breath and incoherent.Similar to when two people start chuckling about a joke or some funny incident and wind up laughing and hooting and hollering out of control. I posted something like this on HuffPo and someone suggested it would go good on SNL.

66. I had to read the comments to learn this is real and not a spoof.
I've seen plenty of men cry, but none whose faces actually melted like that. Did he have a stroke at one time? The one side of his face and speech seem a little off. That was difficult to watch.

68. I've been saying for awhile now that,
that man is a DRUNK. You can just look at him and tell he's a heavy drinker. His eyes are always bloodshot, his face is always red and he just reminds me of an alcoholic in his mannerisms and speech.

69. I agree with Joy. Don't blubber over your own economic struggle & pull out rug on middle class
I have no problem with a man crying in public, occasionally. When Dan Rather cried after 9/11 on Letterman, I said, "You go, boy!" When Edmund Muskie misted up in defense of his wife, I said, "What's the big deal?" As much as I can't stand Dubya, I didn't mind him getting emotional when he hugged his father after his inaugural. That's just human.

But Boehner cries to the point of seeming unstable. And I agree with The View ladies: If Pelosi had blubbered like this, she'd have been called a weak woman.

79. Hasselback, really?
Interesting that Hasselback didn't mention how many jobs
Boehner personally created as a beneficiary of the Bush tax
cuts for the rich?

48% of Congresspeople are millionaires. How many jobs have
they each created since the inception of the Bush tax cuts?

Anyone know?

Where are all of those strong, manly types in the media now? Or does Boehner get a pass from the mocking outside of the View?
