12. I'm with you.
He is on my list of people who would be great to challenge Obama. I think he could win California and New York and a lot of states in the East. Too bad he lives in Florida because if he had been in California, he would have been re-elected for sure.

3. Alan Grayson For President!!!!
I will never. Ever. Cast a vote for Obama again.

This shit is out of control.

Obama is not of the Democratic Party.

The sooner we admit this, the sooner we can develop an alternative.

Of we can keep pretending that he gives a SHIT.

- Your choice.

5. We need to begin the long process of rebuilding the party with core Democratic principles.
Just six weeks ago I actually still held hope the President would return to Democratic foundations but he's made a clear and completely unmistakable turn to the right.

As I find out that President Obama now wants a regressive shift of tax burdens in accordance with the Simpson commission "report" some doubts are arising about his actual affiliation. Who knows? Maybe he'll make it official.

8. I always doubted.
Since the http://www.huffingtonpost.com/earl-ofari-hutchinson/obama-got-it-right-and-wr_b_69494.html">McClurkin incident. It was there that I saw how he could lie from both sides of his mouth at once. But I don't think he'll change parties.

- Why should he, when the people he works for owns both of them?

25. Obama's leanings were obvious the first out of the gate after the election '08 ....
What was it that caused you to miss that?

Just really curious -- cause it took me a long time to wake up re politics --

and what was really happening in this country.

28. I reluctantly and knowingly bought a centrist in Nov. '08 and that's exactly what I got.
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 10:12 PM by pa28
In the aftermath of the Nov. 2010 disaster he had to make a turn one way or the other and that was what I considered to be the last call.

So, he turned and turned to the right, OK but what I'm stunned by his sudden devotion to conservative objectives around entitlement programs and a doubling down of his commitment to neoliberal economic policies.

He's not a centrist anymore; no need to re-hash what he's done in the last few weeks, that's bad enough, what he's going to do in the next few months is the real reason Democrats need to wake up.

He's already ahead of congressional Republicans in adopting the Simpson "report" and he's already stated he wants to reform the tax structure in line with commission recommendations. That means eliminating or curtailing deductions and credits associated with middle class earners and cutting tax rates on the wealthiest Americans to around 26%. A cut that makes the current tax giveaway look confiscatory by comparison.

Sorry to get long winded here but I'm just a little knocked back by the recent events.

We were fooled and I voted for him too. We need a progresive candidate to challenge him now ..Now?..yes because it wil take about a billion dollars to launch and run a sucessful campaign for the primaries and nomination.

7. The house has passed a lot of good legislation that the senate won't take up.
that is either a failure on Obamas part or the country truly is ungovernable.

10. The country.....
...hasn't actually been "governed" for a long, long time. It's run. Like a business. And from time to time they get rid of some of the employees in order to increase profits.

- This is one such time......

Mr. President we can do better than giving the richest folks in America more, because never before in American history have so few been given all the winnings.

68% of liberals approve of the unemployment part.... not the tax give away part.

17. These polls are manipulated - A few days before this bullshit poll 58% didn't approve of this bill
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 02:37 PM by GreenTea
Then as always like magic....it changes into the republicans favor, and not only that but by a huge turnaround a highly unlikely percentage turnaround....in just a couple of days these bullshit polls swing it so republicans can get their tax cuts for the rich and estate taxes for the wealthy cut.

Republicans like Karl Rove learned a long time ago that can use these bullshit polls to their advantage, no questions asked....to force and pressure democrats that the unlikely swing is overwhelming proof that in just a couple of days a gigantic swing to exactly what the republicans want.

This has been happening for years now.

And Ed Schultz whom I love, however always reports these polls as gospel - and democrats including Obama are always sucked in as the republicans, Fox news and republican hate-greed & lies talk radio pound these unlikely polls always favoring republican agenda pounding them in day & night 24/7.

It's the same and just as bad as believing the easily hackable electronic voting machines with no paper trail as gospel....it's utterly ridiculous to any thinking person.

Simply amazing!
