2. Here's what no one seems to be pointing out about this.
How is it that we know about this? We know about it because of leaked U.S. State Department cables.

Think about that. That means that the U.S. State Department has known about this.

It also means that Shell representatives felt comfortable in reporting their reprehensible behavior to the U.S. Ambassador. That would seem to imply that they felt that the U.S. would have no problem with it. Not only that, the fact that they told our State Department about this would also seem to imply that, not only did they think the U.S. wouldn't object to their behavior, but that Shell had something to gain by telling the U.S. about it.

All of this would seem to imply that the U.S. may be a willing partner in this subversion of the Nigerian government and in looking the other way regarding the corruption that keeps the benefits of the oil money from reaching the Nigerian people.

Now think about that!
