DeFazio is absolutely right- this tax "deal" is a trap, a poison pill to destroy Soecial Security.

THIS IS THE FULL INTERVIEW

1. "an abysmally stupid" move by the President's advisors. Exactly right.
Pete DeFazio tells it like it is.

REC.

2. Exactly. Defazio and Bernie Sanders KNOW what Obama is
trying to do to Social Security. Obama is working for the Republicans. There are no two ways about it. Strange that no one is viewing this video.

3. Al Franken called Obama on it too, (LINK)
The Hardest Vote I've Taken

This is not secret knowledge. Representatives are being put into a very difficult position.

4. So for a one year extension in unemployment insurance, we lose
social security for people that have paid into the system all their working lives. I have no use for Al Frankin anymore; however, that said, I will hold no grudges against those who still support him. I fully believe that should this abortion of a bill pass without redress of the social security tax holiday, it will end the career of Al Frankin and others with the same short-term thinking. And the documentation of those Democrats agreeing to this misdeed will be vast. Obama failed with his catfood commission and took things into his own deceiving hands.

10. Rest assured that Franken and every other Senator who has voiced his/her
opposition to this bill are being bullied, intimidated, browbeaten, threatened, arm-twisted, and warned of dire consequences from the party leadership if they do not support the bill.

This is why I am sick of the Democratic leadership. They are willing to beat the fuck out of good Democrats on behalf of an atrocious bill, but they are scared to fucking death of the Republicans.

My party of 40-plus years is dying of a terminal cancer that has eaten its heart and is now burrowing into its soul.

13. A big part of the problem is that almost ANYONE who has to live in that
cesspool inside the Beltline gets infected with the Beltline Bubonic Plague, an illness that causes one to listen only to 'experts' who are paid to tell them how to think.

it's a whole different world. The seat of power on the planet, at least for now. It's all about political maneuvering at the highest levels and the egos of the participants. Never about the country or the citizens.

7. No- I've actually heard it come up several times recently that this is unheard of.
Absolutely unheard of. Like the president throwing a sucker-punch right to the heart of the Left-wing of the Democratic party.

8. K&R.
These tax cuts will not stimulate job growth. That is the most important thing to remember.

Do you think that the Waltons or the Campbell Soup heirs will be investing in jobs in the US?

Absolutely not. Never. They hate our country. What have they done for the US lately?

At least one of the Campbell Soup heirs moved to Ireland to avoid paying taxes here. That was many years ago. I do not know whether he ever came back. But it certainly shows you how little that person cares about America.

That kind of personal attention, even when I'm not in his district here in Oregon, is that of a top notch politician. Wish he were my congressman here.

A little concerned that when they potentially add a new district here in Oregon with the latest census results, that they will try to "redistrict" him out of power... I really hope not! The legislature is not as tight in Democratic hands as it used to be.
