1. I'm sure many books will be written........
The ones I want to read is : " My Apology To The World For George W. Bush "
or " My Thumb Is Not Your Thimble "
Endless possibilities.

2. Did blackwaterdog do this or did someone just take her words and add them to music?
Either way, this is a pretty nice video. :)

5. Thank you for this
I get so tired of the constant drum beat of negativity involving our president. It is good to know that some people understand what he has done and what he is up against.

Kick and highly recommend.

7. I'm grateful to Obama too.

For furthering government surveillance.

For electing a Republican Congress without a fight.

For laying the groundwork for a Republican Senate in 2012.

For embracing austerity budget cuts just like Herbert Hoover did after the Crash of '29 that precipitated the Great Depression.

For ending the Democratic Party by endorsing right wing Republican tax cuts for the super rich and getting them passed.

For beginning the delegitimization, privatization and end of Social Security.

For not knowing what a fight is.

I'm real grateful for Obama.

He did things no Republican ever did.

And it's a good thing that he had other priorities as number one, like corporate health care instead of global warming even though FDR created the Tennessee Valley Authority that produced hydroelectric power for millions and Obama could have spent similar funds on solar power and similar things. Instead, whereas one used to be able to get to the frozen North Pole by dog sled here is what the North Pole looks like now, WATER:

But who cares about that? Grateful to Obama at 10. World ends at 11.

I am especially grateful to Obama for getting the Republicans to finally cooperate.
By us becoming one.

Getting rid of the Democratic Party was an absolute masterstroke.

Caving in works.

Obama did something no human being has ever done before.

He disproved Albert Einstein.

Einstein said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."

Obama caved and caved and caved, convinced that the Republicans would finally turn over a new leaf.

It worked!

Now the Republicans have become wonderful cuddly marshmallows!

Obama is a genius! He disproved Einstein!

He deserves a Nobel Prize in Thinkology!

I am SO grateful.

9. The right hates him and the left hates him...

That's how you know he's true. He disappoints me, and he frustrates me, but I will never feel your way. I've read the trashy posts about our president and I've come to pity you. I'm sorry you can't appreciate, in real time, the positive change, but someday you will. But you'll always look back with sadness that you couldn't enjoy it.

Look at this...

Remarkable success, In one year we went from -7 to +5

You can't see it just like they can't see this.

In a way this DADT victory is one of the more pronounced, or personal, or something. It's a significant cultural shift and he had the politics to get it done.

Another milestone and you missed it.

10. I'm with him, too, and grateful.
Sure, there have been some missteps but wonderful, historic, huge wins, too. Sad that even here on DU the former gets all the attention. K&R

11. I am so tired of hearing those who say...
Obama has done so much wrong, ignoring all that he has got done we progressives wanted, & attack him ever chance they get and say criticizing our leaders is the right thing to do...Yet I saw no greatest threads criticizing Nancy Pelosi for allowing the tax cut compromise to go through, not one! Why is that? Is Nancy Pelosi weak & cannot stand up to Obama? HELL NO! Both her & Obama obviously agreed on this issue but we did not see the same folks here on DU who went nuts over Obama also criticize Nancy Pelosi...I wonder why?

I support & appreciate both Pelosi & Obama they have done more in two years than I thought they would especially considering the political climate & the worse economic crap since the Great Depression! Neither is perfect but I doubt we could have elected to better leaders to get us through this while also getting some very meaningful policies passed.

This country has been under the Right Wing spell for more than 30yrs & that can't be changed over night but look waht has been changed in just two years.

15. My bifocals broke the other day. Could I borrow those rose-colored specs you
are wearing?

I'm not saying that Obama is bad or that he has done nothing right. Nor am I saying he's the most terrific person who ever breathed air and the best we could do as President.

He is human and definitely not perfect. I stopped believing in perfect presidential candidates when I was twelve years old and Bobby Kennedy was killed. (I must admit that it is still hard for me to believe that Bobby would have handed some disapointments down had he lived and won the presidency, but I know he would have...) But I don't have any desperate need to believe the way so many seem to have.

Obama has handed us some victories that we could celebrate. He has handed us some crushing losses that will have continuing effects. And he has handed us too many "victories" that contain poison pills that I fear may bring us even more burdens than the out right losses will bring even if there are some good things mixed in.

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't need an IDOL for President. I don't have to love him or hate him. I just want to see him do the job right. That means that I will critize him if I think he had done wrong and praise him if I think he has done right. I'll even prise him if he has done the absolute possible best that he can do.

It is up to us to judge him and his job (as well as any other elected official) with the most clear vision of which we are able. Anything else means that you have failed in your job as a citizen and voter of this country.

You've kept the promise you made to me at the Depue VFW in July of 2004. Thank you President Obama.
