Because he is a secret Muslim, and the lunar year ended in September, then he broke that promise.

3. I have been very loud and very critical of the President over many many issues.
But I will give credit where credit is due.

I don't know who was pushing for it more - Congress or the President. I don't know if he secretly, behind the scenes, drug this out to the last minute. I don't know if this would have gotten done in spite of him...

... and I don't care. Not today.

He stood in front of the nation and signed that bill today and gave many people their lives back and moved us one tiny step closer to equality.

It's not over. We're still not free. There are still over a thousand ways GLBT people are discriminated against daily... and legally.

But for the next few minutes, I'm happy to focus on this.

Thank you Senators, Thank you Congressmen, Thank you Mr. President
