23. The most interesting thing outside of content
of the interview was, how it was (hmmmm..)cut short by the president's suddenly answering questions, which was later "questioned" as to the intelligence of taking questions, rather than as Chris said "after making the sale, go home."

It was obviously intended to be longer, but was cut short.

I loved the content, it was spot-on. Who is the fraking terrorist here? The republicans run around suggesting we kill journalists that happen to release information they've carefully manipulated and parsed to feed the Americans' brainwashed minds. Imagine were any network to begin suggesting assassination of one of them. HS would be at their door immediately.

It just seems like there should be a law that politicians and journalists (often the same, or they play at fake journalism anyway) should not be allowed by law to suggest we kill someone, especially for releasing the truth of things we should have known in the first place.

17. Comment from The Guardian re. Murcoch take over there
This whole affair stinks to high heaven.

There was an obstacle in the way of Murdoch's media dominance. Suddenly there isn't thanks to some dirty dealings, some undercover journalists.

I dont buy it for one second.

Thatcher destroyed the manufacturing base of this country. The private sector exported the replacement jobs to call centres in india.

About the only thing left to work for, to inspire us, is in the culture sector.

Cue Murdoch taking over the media. the bbc being dismantled, cuts in the arts across the board. What is the point. A choice between Tesco's and the dole queue, whilst saving up my pennies to watch footy on sky?

This is the final nail in the coffin of England if this purchase of BsykB goes ahead.

Our population will be falsely educated by Sky - look what Fox did to half the population in America. Even the poor there vote republican. Dumb down news. Political agendas. Polarised debates. The rich controlling the masses and the people to dumb to know it.

Can someone please stop this hideous family and their pernicious agenda?

By any means necessary.

18. Latest WikiLeak cable from The Guardian
Problems with the mercenaries in Iraq:

"According to a China National Petroleum Company (CNPC) security team was stopped in Basrah city by the Iraqi police in a 'clear attempt to disrupt and cause panic to the clients.' said that the Iraqi police stopped the convoy and showed a letter from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) stating that as of January 12, personal security teams now faced a more restrictive weapons regime. The situation was eventually resolved, and the convoy was released, but said that this episode could presage a more restrictive posture towards security firms 'in retaliation or the Blackwater verdict'," wrote Naland.

The cable also says that security companies are being encouraged by the Iraqi government and the oil companies to employ more Iraqis and less westerners in frontline jobs.

"According to XXXXXXXXXX, the GOI is anxious to 'get rid of all the white faces carrying guns' in their streets," it reads.

Afghan authorities last week arrested a British private security company employee and sentenced him to eight months in jail, the latest move in the government's crackdown on private security firms. Global Strategies Group consultant Michael Hearn was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly failing to register weapons with the government.

9. If you look at it in context -- the bombing of al Jazeera TWICE
by the army, the shelling of the Palestine Hotel, the torture of Sami al Haj, the wikileaks video with the murder of the Reuters reporters -- if you really look at all of that, then it should suprise no one that even someone like Joe Biden could casually call Assange "like a hi tech terrorist", let alone all the usual poison from the right wing.

A line has been crossed here.

38. Biden was, over the top, IMO in his assessment of Assange.
And I personally have never forgiven him his role in the Clarence Thomas debacle.
I do, however, believe that Biden is basically a decent guy who cares deeply for his fellow Americans, especially on domestic issues.
But to me, his foreign policy statements reflect a decidedly RW AIPAC bias, as you say.

12. Assange needs to spend more time in the States--we're used to this
It's SOP for right wing Americans to go in public advocating some horrible deed of violence,
and then, should it actually be committed by some nut, they throw up their hands in horror,
and deplore the violent tendencies in our society, most of which are the direct result of--what
else?--"libbrul permissiveness," but never their own incitement, no, never that.

You would expect something like this from those two right wing Idiots, but I must say for the Vice President to utter such nonsense is really quite frightening ,and really why would anyone be surprised at what is going on except that it has caused some to wake up and demand that our country be returned to the rule of Law.

These days powerful people think they are ENTITLED to be judge jury and executioner!! Just skip the messy trial, that is so quaint and backward, who has time for that?

To have our wealth stolen is one thing, now we have lost our innocence. Our Republic was based on humans being innocent until proven guilty--this is no small thing!

42. Cenk ad MSNBC is not main stream enough? That's a rhetorical
question!

If NBC, ABC, CBS covered this, I'd consider this "mainstream" and something Fox News would not be able to ignore.

If I were the U.S. Atty General Holder, I would call Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, and Palin in on charges of inciting violence against innocent Americans, request they be held without bail.

For Dr Tiller, and so many others.

34. Isn't incitement to commit murder
illegal? Haven't people gone to prison for such things? There's some people in my neck of the woods I'm not fond of - if I went on TV and said we should illegally shoot the sons of bitches, isn't it likely that I'd be facing criminal charges?

Guess it's ok when media hot shots and politicians do it though.
