A new investigation by the Boston Globe find that retiring generals & admirals are leaving the military in large numbers to take lucrative jobs in the defense industry with little concern for any conflicts of interest. Democracy Now speaks with Bryan Bender, national security reporter for the Globe, who's study found how retired generals influence arm sales.

like my employer where we bid on giant DOD contacts in Iraq and Afghanland. I've noticed we have hired a bunch of retired Admirals and Generals since Bush/Cheney stole that election.

War is where they make their money.

4. Not a new phenomenon, really

My father worked for a MIC contractor and they hired Admiral Chester Nimitz as their liaison to the Pentagon. You can bet the snuffies stepped to attention when he showed up.

Actually, he was a pretty nice guy. I spent a couple of hours talking with him one evening. He was the sponsor of the company small bore rifle team, of which I was a member and he would come down occasionally to sit and chew the fat with us.
