2. fascinating and he makes very simple sense -- the liberalism{or it's failure}

of the west is the reason for fundamentalism -- his talking about afghanistan from the 50's and 60's and what it is today.

loved the comment about what's happened in kansas -- and kansas is our afghanistan.

3. I especially like his comparison between Brazil and Venezuela

Brazil is booming and Venezuela is stagnating. Proving that socialism (or democratic socialism) is not the problem - the problem is populism. Which is also a problem in liberalist nations like the US. Not to mention Italy..
