BP Beach Cleanup, WEAR ABC 3, February 12, 2011:

Transcript Excerpts ... BP is now saying the sand is clean, and wants to take all their heavy equipment away. That request is not sitting well with Escambia County commissioners, who say there is still oil washing onshore everyday. Pat Schibline ... says its been a constant fight to get BP to do anything about the submerged oil that is literally sitting in his backyard. There is a tarmat the size of a football field, somewhere between 12-30 inches below the sand level out in front of Eden Each morning after sunrise, beaches are covered with tar balls according to Eden Homeowners. BP crews come scoop them up, then call it a clean beach, which they say just isn't true...

1. The Louisana mother warned us.... She said it will spread....
and that nothing was going on to clean it up.... She did her part and she did it well.... BP did not even attempt to do their part....

5. Well, they are in a committed relationship with BP.
That's the only "long haul" that they care about.

BP and our government..........spreading lies, health dangers, oil, Corexit, environmental destruction and so much more in the best interests of the mighty dollar.

4. In the middle of the night, BP machines buried the oil beneath the sand.
and chased away people who filmed it and who later put it up on You Tube.

Then Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, like a scene out of Jaws, ran an advertising campaign to get people to come down to the beach.

9. I'd like them all arrested for depraved indifference to human life.
How do you arrest a corporate person? Because we really need to do that.

16. Locals say the disregard for tourist safety is criminal
They are smart enough to limit their own exposure. Disgusting, isn't it?

7. A click on my journal reveals I posted all of these videos previously
thanks for reposting the links. Stuff disappears from the video page after once being posted, so it is good to keep sharing the old links.

13. If only we had elected a Democrat to head our government back in 2008
You know, someone who would have had the courage to say, "At some point in time, our beaches and shore lines will be as pristine as they were before. Because this government will see to it that BP restores the environment to the state it should be."

Who would have seen to it that the EPA not allow the spraying of Corexit.

14. +1 - especially re the spraying of COREXIT -- !!
Unfortunately, Obama said, "Rigs these days don't leak" -- that was just before the
BP "spill" --

Later,Obama said, "The Gulf will bounce back!"

And we have two more years of this to go!

15. Plenty of people were saying this all along
The Gulf is NOT clean, its waters are NOT safe to bathe in, and its fish are NOT safe to eat.

There are surely parts of the Gulf, especially the farther south one goes, that are safe to bathe
in, and whose fish have not migrated from contaminated areas, but since I don't know where those
areas are, I will not (knowingly, anyway) be eating any gulf fish or bathing in gulf waters for
the next decade. Both my parents had cancer, as did ALL of their siblings. I see no need to speed
things along in that regard.

17. You are right people have been shouting but the windbags
drown them out. No evidence is good enough. No one who points out problems has the right credentials. None of the alarmed journalists know what they are talking about. The citizen complaints are just people trying to make claims based on lies.

Only BP and government scientists who underplay problems can be trusted.
