Tommy Christopher at Mediaite has great video of a passionate discussion between Leland Robinson, a black tea partier, who was sadly subjected to some racist heckling, and a pro-union teacher.

As you can see, things start out with a good old-fashioned, spirited-as-hell debate between Leland and a schoolteacher, and if you leave out the racially-charged stuff, this conversation crackles with the energy of democracy. I really wanted to hear Leland’s second choice for teachers (after “Quit your job”), and I was fine with his suggestion that teachers all be “f***ing fired,” and with the teacher’s response that you don’t know what work is until you’ve taught. I only wished I could have heard more about the entrepreneurial model of public school teaching.

A woman named Linda Sari at one point interjects and asks Leland, “Do you have any children that you claim?” Then it gets interesting.

and one of the teachers asks him if he has any children that he claims- That being the worst thing that any of the pro-teacher people said- and they try and make it into a big racist tirade? You could say the same thing to anybody else -that is anybody of any ethnic group other than black- and nobody would bat an eye, but this guy was trying to stir something up.

No doubt Andrew Breitbart will have this video on his website by tomorrow, and Fox will have it on a continuous loop for the next week.

about asking whether a man has any children that he claims. Deadbeat dads (and occasionally moms) come in all ages, races, sizes, shapes, income brackets and colors. They might even come in all sexual orientations, but certainly gay and lesbian people are much less likely to be deadbeat parents.

The man with the yellow flag said he lived alone, so if he has a child, he is not living with the child.

What I saw was an obnoxious, deliberately provocative man with an attitude of superiority sneering at the teachers and making no point whatsoever (Quit teaching and become an enterpreneur? That's going to solve the teachers' pay issue?). When the woman made the "that you claim" comment it may or may not have had racial overtones; the assumption that it did came from the man and the bystanders. One doesn't have to be black in order to not claim one's children. I was impressed with how quickly her comment was used to deflect attention from his hit-and-run tactics.

I'd like to have heard more too, but I don't think he was interested in doing more than shoring up his narcissism and provoking.

I am sorry but I listened very carefully to hear the racist remark/heckling and there was non. Arguing with, disagreeing with or making assumption about a black person doesn't automatically make you a racist. This kind of careless accusations is the reason why some white people are afraid of engaging with us.

I think you need to prove where in the video anyone was racist to the black guy or rephrase the title
