...and it appears that their words don't match their deeds. It's as if they're
saying things to make themselves look innocent--when what they're doing is anything
but.

If they are beating and pepper spraying people--that's not "just doing my job". They're
hurting people who are assembling peacefully. The police were crushed from a PR standpoint
the last time they pepper sprayed those girls--I guess now they figure when they say nice
words while they engage in barbaric behavior--that it's ok.

And what's with the--"on the sidewalk" orders? Are they infiltrating a crowd, then making
demands that can't possibly be met--then beating and pepper spraying?

You can't ask a big crowd in a street to move onto the sidewalks. There isn't room.

Seems like a trap. If others have further explanations about what is happening in this
video, they are most welcome.

a reporter because he prefaced it each time with, "Don't hit me! I've already been hit once. I'm just doing my job."

He sounded at least nervous, and maybe scared.

Because I evidently blinked and missed it.

It you're going to show a video where the police actually "lose it", why not show a video where that is actually happening? :shrug:
