Add another puke-face Republican to the growing list that loathe the Occupy Wall Street protests.

RawStory:

" Rep. Peter King (R-NY) is upset at the growing movement and the media’s coverage of it, hoping that a modern day version of protests from five decades ago isn’t being recaptured now.

“It’s really important for us not to give any legitimacy to these people in the streets,” said King on Laura Ingraham’s radio show Friday evening. “I remember what happened in the 1960s when the left-wing took to the streets and somehow the media glorified them and it ended up shaping policy. We can’t allow that to happen.”

7. "We the people..." shape policy? Does the Constitution allow that?
I'd say the Constitution is setup so "We the people..." ARE the ones that are supposed to be the ones shaping policy, not those who we elect that think they know better than us.

20. Republicans are going to alienate independents with this kind of
take on the OWS movement. What a blunder!

With the exception of the wealthy who benefited from them, Americans of all political shades and colors are furious at the bail-outs. All Americans fell they got sold out.

Looks like the Republicans are quite willing to own those same extremely unpopular bail-outs and quite willing to run on defending the sell-out.

Hey, we are on for 2012. All that Democrats have to do is broadcast the list of demands from the OWS crowd and then Peter King's remarks, and we have it.

Even rural communities are sick of the economic pressure to industrialize farming. Those in the know, realize that they are putting their soil and the futures of their children at risk with all the chemicals they push and spray and bury in God's precious earth that gives us our daily bread.

of this passionate cause protest into a bon fire. They should loop his words and broadcast it through a bullhorn......

39. i got an e-mail from alan grayson today.
in it he said the banks got 16 trillion in bailouts, enough to give every man, woman, and child $50,000. if they had given us our own money instead of giving it to the bank most of it would have ended up there anyway. we would all be better off.

21. Laura Ingraham is one of the last people who are going legitimize OWS
King is preaching to the choir. Nobody but hopelessly ignorant right wing morons and the morbidly curious listen to Laura Ingraham.

The Republicans don't believe in universal health care because "the people will like it." The Republicans don't want fair and balanced (I mean, really fair and balanced) news coverage of OWS to re-regulate the banks because the movement to re-regulate banks and get corporate money out of politics will win. He even harkens back to the Vietnam War protests, neglecting to point out that the Soviet Union eventually fell in spite of the inability of the US to impose a kleptocracy on the southern half of that nation. In that instance, We, the People, for whom Mr. King appears to have as much contempt as a Russian Tsar, showed better sense than the politicians, especially President Nixon and even his predecessor, President Johnson.

Tooeyeten is right. The man does not believe in democracy. He belongs to a party with contempt for people and is working as hard as they can to prevent demographically selected blocks from voting, least the people put corporate lackeys like Mr. King out of work.

Wall Street tycoons and their congressional toads should find honest work.

If they have a problem with that, We, the People, will find them honest jobs amking license plates.

28. Too many listen to the wrong wing these days
It's Faux's fault of course. False equivalency is the fad of the moment for pseudo-journalism and corporate media.

We must grow out of it and think critically again. Keep criticizing their industry and remind them of the job they are supposed to be doing, it should work.

32. Yes, the response from the corporate whores has been defensive....
...wobbly, and just simpleton. It really is like they've been hit with a couple of jabs and they weren't ready. These folks are usually masters of the message and talking points, spreading the right 'facts' into their corporate media.

Now, we should all beware! You know they're working overtime to hone their message and spew their well rehearsed bullet points. But for now, it's like these corporatists are the ones without a message.
