2. Article VI, US Constitution. Enough said.
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.

4. There are plenty of reasons to not support Romney, but "my cult doesn't like
your cult" is not one of them.

The Dominionists would strike that clause from the constitution they day they take power.

3. Bush Jr. called himself a Christian
Edited on Tue Oct-11-11 11:14 AM by AsahinaKimi
But he really wasn't Christian enough for the evangelicals. Maybe the extreme right wing, doesn't want someone in office who is NOT a purist. Frankly its the purists that scare me, as a non Christian. If they ever get power, every non Christian in this country may find themselves on the wrong side of the new biblical law.

6. I wouldn't call them purists. I'm a Christian...and I guess a "purist."
However, I actually believe that little, itty, bitty part of the New Testament called...JESUS' OWN WORDS...I guess I'm not a purist because I don't buy that part of the New Testament where Jesus says we shouldn't have a capital gains tax or that we should execute people.

Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who are hungry now,
for you will be filled.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. (1)
Rejoice in that Day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets. (2)
But woe to you who are rich,
for you have received your consolation.
Woe to you who are full now,
for you will be hungry.
Woe to you who are laughing now,
for you will mourn and weep.
Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.

And this...

Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.
