Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director Robert Mueller held a press conference about a foiled terror plot involving the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the Israeli Embassy, a Mexican drug cartel and more. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

1. It seems that with the MMJ, DOJ recent enforcement decision
in California, that the "Mexican drug cartels" would be pretty busy preparing to increase production to fill the void left by once legal MMJ dispensaries rather than assassinating Saudi's on U.S. soil.

Perhaps (seriously) that was what it took to convince this administration to reinstate their massive cash cow in California.

More distraction and war time, they have to get this OWS movement out of the public eye....

I bet it's not as good as the first movie, though.

3. Fool me once...
"Fool me once, shame on... you.... Fool me you can't get fooled again!"

:-P

Anyway, good breakdown by Cenk. I was one of those completely fooled by the Bush administration's Iraq claims, and so now I'm pretty skeptical of a government story with lots of holes and little public evidence accompanied by over-dramatic press conferences. Even if it's not an outright fabrication, it wouldn't be the first time unreliable interrogation techniques and lazy investigation have led a law enforcement official in the wrong direction. Like Cenk said, there's a lot that doesn't make sense about the story.

4. There's nothing strange about war by proxy, but Iran doesn't let used car salesmen run operations

that might provoke a massive attack by the world's largest military and economic power. No how, no way.

Even if in arguendo we accept that Beirut '83 and Lockerbie attacks or Khobar Towers somehow were contenanced by officials in Tehran, they were not carried out by incompetents. Quite obviously so, since to this day no one can prove Iran's role in what happened.

No, this was another Amateur Hour production, like the Underwear Bomber incident, that would never have happened if it were not for gullible low-level wannabes and overly-zealous US law enforcement and policymakers who are entirely too close to the Neocons who brought us the Iraq War disaster. Not again. No way.

7. Good Advice

Cenk is right to advise American's to keep an open mind. Besides more recent "False Flag" operations, "Black-Ops" have been around for a long time. A very old quote I believe I got from someone here at D.U.:

"The secret mischiefs that I set abroach
I lay unto the grievous charge of others.

And thus I clothe my naked villainy
With odd old ends, stol'n out of holy writ;
And seem a saint, when most I play the devil."

Shakespeare´s "Richard III"

9. This sounds like fiction. The kind that someone with a wild
imagination would come up with, and even as fiction, it is pretty funny to think THEY think anyone will buy it.

I hope they have something more then this before starting yet another war in the ME. And where is the money supposed to come from? I read somewhere that we would be borrowing from China, in which case they can't do it, as China will not cooperate. I sure hope so for the sake of the millions of innocent people who would die in such a criminal war.

Someone needs to reign this country's war machine in.
