On October 15, 2011, Occupy Omaha had its first major event, a rally at city hall and march to the Federal Reserve building, continuing through downtown Omaha's Old Market shopping district. According to the Omaha World-Herald, police estimated the size of the rally at 900-1000 people. Not too shabby for 9am on a Saturday morning.

2. anywhere near the Durham Museum..??
only been down town Omaha once. in 2006. went there in 2008 but mostly for the Henry Doorly Zoo. Plan to go to Mahoney State Park in the middle of next month. (which will be with the odd couple. Me a bit left wing and my brother who'd love to bring a gun to such an event... (only in his head) should be interesting if they care still there.

Cedar Falls, IA had an OWS march from University of Northern Iowa to Overman Park. Tents were still this around noon today. I just didn't have it in me to walk that long. Hey probably save UNI's electric bill. Tents in the park..

albeit I'm coming to get away from my tea party dad.... Omaha has been more blue than many other area's in the state. I actually like Lincoln, although my grandmother was killed there in the late 70's thanks to a drunk driver. Probably late 1978

3. Mahoney's best in the summer I think.
They have the best wave pool around. That area is beautiful in the fall though. If you are into mountain biking make sure to check out Platte River S.P. very nearby.

4. Fairly Close
They marched south on 10th Street but turned east on Jackson Street. The Durham Museum is one block south of where they turned and is on the east side of the viaduct over the railroad tracks that run adjacent to the Old Market.
