Fox News host David Asman compared the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protesters representing 99% of Americans to parasites. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down from the OWS protests in New York City.

1. Projecting...as usual.
The real parasites are the 1% who do nothing to warrant their "wealth," except suck like leeches off the 99%.

5. Exactly!
The 1% are the true parasites! They grew their companies/wealth off of the TAX PAID public system (e.g. roads, bridges, subsidies, etc.), then hoarded their money (i.e. don't pay fair share of taxes) and sent thousands of jobs overseas.

The 99% earn an honest days wage, and pay their fair share of taxes, and then some.

Btw, I can understand why this guy looks down on us (from Wikipedia):

"....he advocates laissez-faire economics and writes from a libertarian perspective."

nuf said.

2. Exactly who are the 'parasites' and who are the 'producers' again?
If there is a "producer class" here, it's the people who actually generate wealth by working, laboring, designing, inventing, and actually...you know...PRODUCING things.

If there is a "parasite class" here, it's the people who magically create fortunes for themselves by trading worthless pieces of paper back and forth for increasingly bigger and bigger commissions, producing absolutely NOTHING, until the entire Ponzie scheme collapses and the "producer class" is blackmailed into bailing their parasitic asses out. Meanwhile, they've stashed the billions of dollars in phantom wealth they've created in the Bahamas to avoid taxes, and kicked back just enough of the plunder to the POLITICAL parasites to provide "political cover" to keep their criminal asses out of jail.

There is also a chattering, pundit class, mainly on Fox, who is also given a share of the plunder to provide "ideological cover" to these crooks.

The Occupy Wall Street crowd is definitely protesting against the right group of people, if you ask me. However, they should seriously think about marching over to Rockafeller Plaza and protesting the assholes at Fox News, as well. The politicians and the paid propagandists who PROTECT these crooks are accessories to the crime, and should NOT get a pass.

9. Fucking cell phones are ubiquitous!
So are refrigerators and microwaves. I suppose the 1% and their boot licks define 'poor' as homeless and destitute beyond any means. "Look they have cell phones, refrigerators, televisions, and microwaves, all the modern conveniences. What do they have to complain about?"

Yes, you filthy arrogant bastards, some of the poor do have modern conveniences. Some other things they may have are mountains of debt that they will never be able to surmount, and an overpriced cockroach infested apartment where some of those modern conveniences may or may not work depending on whether there was enough money this week to pay the bills. Worse yet is what some of these people do not have, such as access to health-care, a job with a living wage, an education that provides opportunities to grow without the burden of insurmountable debt, and a decent place to call home.

In a classic case of projection they call us parasites. I challenge the 1% and their heels to look at themselves. Can they not see it is they who are the leeches upon this society, and indeed this very planet. They drain the very spirit out of the workforce demanding higher and higher productivity without fair and just compensation. Then they drain us of every last cent with debt, and make that burden more onerous by placing the risk involved in their market manipulations into the hands of the public. They poison and contaminate our environment and our politics. And like a mindless parasite they will continue to drain us until they drive us to extinction, seemingly oblivious to the fact that killing the host will also bring about their end.

"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." - John Kenneth Galbraith

The modern conservative has found their prophet in the hack novelist, screenwriter, and pseudo-intellectual Ayn Rand who glorified selfishness in her Objectivist philosophy. They see the 1% as Randian heroes standing astride the world like a colossus. The call them Producers believing it is they alone who have created this very world we all live in through sheer will. The wealth they posses is owed only to their greatness as the creators of this world. It is through this fantastic twisted prism they view the rest of us as parasites living off of their achievements.

The wealth and privilege they enjoy has generated a bubble around them making them oblivious to the 'help'. They refuse to acknowledge that it is the people who keep this machine running. If the majority begin to realize this is where people power lies the whole damn enterprise will grind to halt. OWS is just the first attempt to burst their bubble; to splash cold water in their faces so that they may awaken from this fantasy world they live in. They had best pay attention. The Occupy movement spread quite rapidly. Imagine how a general strike could impact their perception of who really produces in this economy.
