1. I was lucky enough when I was an active Union carpenter

to be able to steer a couple of young people into our apprenticeship program. These people were struggling with life too. I still get updates from one of them. He has become a much happier and productive person and earns a living wage. These programs are great. Now, in the carpenters Union, when you finish your apprenticeship, you receive an Associates degree in addition to your Journeyman card. They have to work and study ( they earn a good wage while doing so) for four years (sometimes less), but the quality of carpenters they turn out is amazing.

2. So do you work for a company that is IBEW unionized or do you join IBEW itself?

I'm asking because I've been looking for an apprentiship for over a year since I received my Associates Degree in Electrical Technology.
