4. Wow, each and every one of us can get venture capital from our wealthy family and friends!
Edited on Sat Oct-22-11 12:55 PM by enki23
And each and every american can be free to be a fucking successful buisnessman, and sell our stuff that we have made overseas at slave wages to each other in perpetuity, well, that and fucking life insurance and fucking snake oil, because we're FREE, thank Gawd Almighty, we're FREE!

So, don't get any ideas about anything being different. Because once somebody names it, it might become an... ISM. Dear fucking god, names for groups of like minded people are always, wihout fail, horrible things. We have to let the venture capital fly free! Fly free, little venture capital that we all have equitable and meritocratic access to, fly free. Because, after all, the "ism" in "Capitalism" is silent.

7. Watch with Caution!
What to take from the cartoon?
While I guess the reason you posted this was the part about stopping unions and such. If so I agree. But, if I showed this to my conservative, Republican, right-wing friends they would think I switched parties. They would take this to "prove" what President Obama, the Democrats, liberal, progressive left-wing is wanting to do and is doing with things such as the health care law.

8. If the Shoe fits...
Both Parties are guilty as charged...
Both had a hand in how America got into this Mess...
It took many years and several different Presidents...
This goes all the way down to Local governments too...
Does not always follow Party lines either...

Have you ever gone to speak at a City Council Meeting.. Only be told you won't get a chance to speak???
I have over and over again...

16. Good point!
Some have tried to twist this in various directions........including some of the really nutty 'patriot' types.

17. I agree, I watched it up to that point and was thinking it was brilliant
I then posted it and watched the end and was wondering if I should have posted it at all.

9. Looks like right wing propaganda to me, touting the glories of capitalism,
while warning about losing your freedom.

13. That sounds very right wing to me. Anti government and for free
enterprise as it is today. They throw in a few buzz words like right to strike, racism etc to make it look good.

This was produced 50 years ago in 1961. I wonder who besides Harding School is connected to this?

14. *lmao*
The cartoon is a parody of itself. It correctly points out that ism's are bad, and then tries to say "capitalist" isn't an "ism."

Well, what can we say? There are still a fair number of true believers in Capitalism/Worship of Mammon, but I see that number dropping steadily. The concept of private property doesn't seem so cool when you don't own your house, your car, your retirement or anything else.
