7. Thats not what I am saying.
If Elvis is the king of rock n roll
Led Zeppelin are THE GODS.

Yes, it is little James Page. Not only does it look like him,
the mannerisms are the same as well.
Watch the part when the host first asks him about his career interest's.
He looks away for a second and makes this gesture that couldnt be anyone else
besides Jimmy Page.
ALL HAIL THE GODS!
ALL HAIL THE GODS!

28. thanks for the link. you know how one link leads to another
and i ended up watching zappa doing stairway to heaven in a 1988 concert in ohio, which lead me to find this (one of my all time favorite songs):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZshJfWzgmok&mode=related&search=

it's just the audio, but it's still really good (if you like these two guys)

11. I bet alot of people were scared to death the first time they saw these guys.
I've been a Zepp fan my whole life.
My prized possession is a concert ticket I never got to use.
I was in eigth grade and my dad bought me the ticket to see them
at Madison Square Garden. I was totally freakin excited.
I was in gym class when my gym coach pulled me out of class
to tell me my dad was waiting at the principles office and it was
important.
Thats the day I learned of John Bonhams death. I cried for a week straight.
Had to go to summer school that year cause I refused to attend
for close to a month.
I still have that ticket and keep it in my safe deposit box at the bank.
My son has become a big Led Zepp fan as well and someday I will give that
ticket to him.
Nice family heirloom. Better than a wedding ring or a frickin family crest.

26. I saw them in Seattle on their first tour opening for Vanilla Fudge! We were
backstage (it's easy when you're a 15 year old chick) and John Bonham was setting up his own drums. On my 16th birthday, not too long after, my friend gave me their first album.

I've also seen Page when he was with the Yardbirds -- Jeff Beck (my absolute favorite) too.

Those were the days -

32. Too young for Woodstock...
but yes, there was punk rock! I'd always wanted to be a hippy, but punk was the next best thing. I don't understand the hatred for hippies by kids who weren't around then. Those were awesome times. And Led Zepplin were GODS when I was growing up.

34. I understand the hatred.
Think about it.
Alot of "hippies" didnt want to get their heads blown off half way around the other
side of the globe. fine.
after the war, these same "hippies" threw themselves at cocain and disco. (DISCO SUCKS)
For awhile in the eighties all you ever heard about was hippy this and woodstock that.
So fucking what. we got high in the mud and grooved to the music. It was blown waaaay out of commercial proportion and became nothing more than a money making historical oddity.
Remember Altamont hippies??? Oh boy, the Angels will protect us!
All I heard about was how "we stopped a war man."
No you didnt, MLK did that hippies.

My folks were "real" hippies and they often told me how they felt like they wasted the best years of their lives following some kinda voodoo mystical magic bullshit and encouraged me to always buck the trend and make my own waves. These punk rock kids arent stupid, these just see bullshit from a mile away and arent going for it. Besides, real rebels dont run in packs.

Now of course I'm being mostly sarcastic about all this but then again........
Look at who's running the world now.

44. Yeah go ahead, rub it in.
My girl friends father was Jimi's friend.
She told me about it when we first got together
and privately, I didnt believe her.
When I met her dad over thanksgiving some years ago, he opened up the family
photo album and sure enough, he had a bunch of pics of him and Jimi hanging out.
So cool to see Jimi outside of his rock n roll persona.
Just being a normal guy, having a good time with his homies.
God I wish there was a time machine.

45. I never saw him. But I saw Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison...
She sung her heart out, She had on this tie-dyed body suit. She dropped acid and drank whiskey at the piano. She was awesome. Morrison on the other hand, was exactly as the movies say.. he was drunk, he turned his back on the audience, he screwed up his songs. he hated us...

50. I saw Janis Joplin a couple of times too.

First time I saw Joplin was when she was with Big Brother. The next day I was in the "hip" area of town buying a copy of our underground newspaper, The Helix, and here she comes walking down the street in a long black velvet coat. Lots of "love beads" and jewelry. She came up and talked to us for a while because I recognized her from the show and said hi. Nobody else knew who she was and didn't pay any attention.

Next time I saw her she was JANIS JOPLIN.

I never did see The Doors, though.

30. Never got to see a concert, but part of my wasted youth, and I do
mean WASTED, was midnight showings of "The Song Remains The Same". "Rocky Horror" was next door, but the Zep theater had a super quad speaker system that totally blasted into all the other theaters. That multicolored sword would just kinda send you floating across the ceiling. I've watched the movie recently, but somehow it wasn't quite the same. Still great music, but the visuals were lacking a certain "something".:hippie:

31. Lackin a certain something.....
I must have been sending out powerful vibes last night.
I started downloading "The song remains the same" last night but it was taking
a long time. I got bored and went into the garage and built myself a new bong out of an old
habitrail gerbil thingy.
By the time I was done the movie had finished downloading and I spent the next 2 1/2 - 3
hours in Led Zepp nirvana.
And now you guys.....is this some how connected?
powerful vibes indeed
