Back from early voting
Something I haven't done since voting for the first time in 04. :)

Proud to cast my vote for Barack Obama. :patriot:

On the way home, I was listening to my alma mater's radio station, and there is this community news radio show that comes on every Wednesday. Anyway, the host said that she was undecided until a couple of days ago. (She was leaning towards Obama, and now is a supporter all the way). She stated her reason for supporting Obama because he brings "freshness" to politics, and is an inspiration to young people and he has a beautiful family. :) (They mentioned that comedians would have a field day joking about corn bread and collard greens in the WH )

They also talked about VP possibilities (Edwards was mentioned because of his overseas experience and having ran before in a GE), but they kept it civil and respectful for listeners who may have chosen other candidates and said it didn't matter who they supported, just go and vote.

1. And that, imho, is exactly as it should be.

Voting for who you believe is the best choice for the office, after careful and considered deliberation, is very important to the ongoing survival of a representative democracy.

Voting for *somebody* is absolutely crucial to it.

*That* you vote at each opportunity is, in the larger sense, even more essential to the continued health of the process than *who* you vote for on any given occasion.
