Wingnuts in a "pardon" frenzy.
So all the "law-and-order-holier-than-thou" freaks are having a rabid tantrum demanding Libby's immediate pardon. Do you suppose they'd have such "compassion" for a black kid sentenced to 10 years for a nickel bag of coke? Every time we think they've hit new heights of hypocrisy, they always surprise us and soar higher yet.

The only "entertainment" factor here will be watching King George squirm as he's caught between wingnut demands for a pardon and the possibility of his ratings dropping into the teens. Couldn't happen to a nicer tyrant.

Nonetheless, Libby is just an assistant fascist. It's the top guys that need to be in orange jump suits and that's something that's very unlikely to happen. Remember that Michael Corleone never went to jail. He died of old age. The same will happen with Bush/Cheney.

1. since it is not logic that binds their worldview, but the lowest form of emotion,
their hypocrisy would have no ceiling, as they gleefully demonstrate here.

3. "Rose and Valerie, screaming from the gallery"
Say he must go free
(Maxwell must go free)
The judge does not agree and he tells them
So, o, o, o.

"But as the words are leaving his lips,
A noise comes from behind..."

Any minute now....

4. Gee, wasn't it in March or April 2001 that Republicans were screaming
about frivolous presidential pardons of people who clearly committed crimes?

7. It's all a question of right and wrong.
Clearly, back then, the wrong people were pardoned.

6. Yeah, but with the Cheney/Bush crime family, it was personal.

8. Puts Bush in a hell of a position
If he throws Scooter under the bus, then the rest of his sychophants are going to get mighty nervous, and start to flee like rats on a ship. Also, it will help ruin his legacy forever among his 25% conservative wingnut base. However if he pardons Libby, it will be such an odious piece of bullshit that it will haunt him for the rest of his term.

My bet is that he is hoping for an appeal that drags out to the end of his term, when he can pardon quickly, quietly and leave office. However sadly, I think that if push comes to shove, Bush will pardon no matter what.
