Wouldn't that be an interesting question? Can you imagine Duncan Hunter or Huckabee asked how they felt about Thomas Jefferson taking all the miracles out of the Bible? The author of the Declaration of Independence not believing the miracles in the Bible! :wow:

Boy would that create some discussion and some interesting responses from the candidates!

The Jefferson Bible, or The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth as it is formally titled, was an attempt by Thomas Jefferson to glean the teachings of Jesus from the Christian Gospels. Jefferson wished to extract the doctrine of Jesus by removing sections of the New Testament containing supernatural aspects as well as perceived misinterpretations he believed had been added by the Four Evangelists.<1> In essence, Thomas Jefferson did not believe in Jesus' divinity, the Trinity, resurrection, miracles, or any other supernatural aspect described in the Bible.<2>

8. Thanks!
My mother and uncle once put together a Haggadah for Passover without one mention of God. We used it for years.

3. I think Wolfie said you can e-mail a question to CNN
to ask, although that could have been for the last one.

Anyway, email a question to whoever is hosting the next one. It's worth a try

7. They would say they're unfamiliar with it
and not give much response. That's my guess.

9. It would still be an opportunity to educate the public

I would like to see that question in a Presidential debate. That way the Republican might do just as you say and act unfamiliar with it but the Democrat could go into detail about what it was etc. It would make the Republican look like he doesn't know his history. Of course the Dem would have to be careful to not alienate too many Christians.

Also, if NONE of them (Republicans) were familiar with it, I think there would be and odd silence and the moderator would be shaking his head and looking at them like they are dopes. It might cause some interesting press afterwords.
