The Chris Matthews on-air curse exposes yet more public media illiteracy.

The FCC DOES NOT regulate CABLE NETWORKS. Cable networks enjoy full protection by the First Amendment. Any decision not to air a curse word is strictly based on rules created by the network itself.

If we don't know how they work, we won't know how to advocate them. Media literacy needs to be taught in our nation's schools.
