All of my friends and relatives from "middle America" -- no matter how politically unaware -- have one overriding impression of Democrats: they are wimps. In fact, the more politically detached they are, the stronger this impression seems to be.

Randi is right on here. The Dems will be rewarded if they start kicking serious ass. They may even find some of these authoritarian conservatives supporting them.
