You have a choice Nancy, give *ush the power to spy on Americans,
thus, pissing on that quaint document that is the Constitution (again), or
tell him the Constitution and FREEDOM is more important than his fantasy of the war on terror.

Your political future depends on which you choose.

Pelosi said the House would work closely with the administration to pass a bill this week, but that it was important to keep "check and balances" between branches of government.

"It's about a branch of government having a check from another branch of government, in this case a judge having a warrant over the power of the president to collect information," she said.

I see no sign that Bush has agreed to Democratic demands or expectations for whatever compromise they want. There's no sign, except for this political rhetoric about wanting a bill.

17. you're the one making all of the hot insinuations
without any specific reference to what she's actually negotiating or is willing to agree to.

Ya kinda of jumped to kick her with this one without any real news to back up the attack. Come back later and hit her with this when you find out what she's agreed to, if anything.

but, we do know what Pelosi's priorities are for such a bill. She wants the warrants. Warrants which are approved by a judge.

<Snip>
Pelosi said the House would work closely with the administration to pass a bill this week, but that it was important to keep "check and balances" between branches of government.
<snip>

Just like the secret 'trade deal. Anyone remember that one? Got any details yet? No? Gee, I'm not surprised.

Just like not funding the war to force a pull out? Any progress on that one? Next month you say? Oh yeah, they gave bush** all the money he wanted last time, didnt' they? Makes me real confidant that Nancy & Co. will stand their ground this time around.

36. I wish to whatever gods may be that she were doing a "heck of a job," believe me.
I really wanted so much for her considering all that she represents. But the nation is sliding into a very, very serious situation -- one that does not hinge upon questions of a political nature or decisions of policy, but of high crimes and misdemeanors at the highest reaches of the government. And the only way to cure the disease she has inexplicably taken away from us.

This is far worse than a poorly run political career or a policy blunder or failure. These are the keys to the Republic. How she can continue given the continuing slide and the continuing crimes being revealed, and the continuing refusal of the criminals to even comply with subpoenas -- there is simply no explanation.

http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Bush_pressing_Democrats_for_expanded_eavesdropping_0801.html
Snip.....
Democratic leaders emerged from a breakfast meeting at the White House Wednesday and appeared willing to pass a limited expansion of spying powers before Congress leaves for a month-long recess at the end of this week, Reuters reported.

"What we committed to was to work closely with the administration to come to agreement," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said.

Pelosi expected the House to pass legislation updating the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act this week, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was less optimistic his chamber would adopt legislation in the next few days.

nothing has been decided yet.

Maybe later this afternoon, maybe later this week, maybe never. It's even likely that Bush won't come down from his imperious demands, rejects the Democratic proposals, and ends up scuttling all of this.

That tells you ALL you need to know.

Our last few protections against tyrnny are swirling down the drain.

The Bushies are at a point where they can begin Nazi-style tactics IMMEDIATELY AND LEGALLY in response to their next false flag, which by the chatter appears to be a "nuclear 9/11" designed to let them and Israel nuke Iran (God Forbid this should happen but are the Royal Bushies that evil to MIHOP or LIHOP it...very possibly)

we know what Bush wants, but the Democrats aren't buying the entire package. It would be more credible if we were discussing something which has actually been agreed to.
