The US Army wants you (actually, they want your kids)

This article from the Cincinnati Enquirer made me do a double take. Looks like the Army needs lots of fresh recruits for the future to maintain our global empire.

Pete Rose may be the hit king, but he was no hit with some kids and parents at the U.S. Army Reds Legends Baseball Camp last week. The man whose name symbolizes the best years of the Reds was the worst speaker on a great program - no contest.

"It was a complete embarrassment," said Staff Sgt. Steven Tischer, commander of the Colerain-Highland Ridge U.S. Army Recruiting Station that sponsored the baseball camp for 7- to 14-year-olds. "You don't swear in front of kids, that's just common sense. He dropped the F-bomb and the S-bomb. He told them winning is everything and if you get second place you're just losers."

...The Army recruiters used baseball to teach great life lessons, Collins said. Players such as Jim O'Toole and Bronson Arroyo were wonderful and each used their 20 minutes to give the kids positive advice, such as the value of playing catch in the backyard with their dads, she said. Rose rambled for an hour until some parents groaned and the kids began to pull grass and chatter.

...Tischer said the coverage "made him out to be a class act, with no mention of the Army."

What does the Army want with 7 year old kids???

1. They must be running out of 8-year olds.

2. Ask any well educated slave owner - you have to train slaves from an early age

to get the most benefit from said slave. It is just common sense, really. If you expect a slave to perform in an acceptable manner, the slave must be adequately trained. This training usually takes years (if you want a well trained slave). One of the problems our masters have in Iraq is that the current crop of slaves they have working in the occupation are just not very well trained. Oh they fight pretty well and oppress the Iraqis in an acceptable fashion, but in real slave training, they just don't quite measure up. But the next crop of slaves will be much better at their jobs! Hail the Leader, Master of us all!

P.S. That Pete Rose was never a very good slave, anyway.
