Something I've noticed from the Crandall Canyon Mine footage
Most people don't know that when there's an accident involving a major airline, the 2nd responders (after the fire trucks) is a paint crew to cover the corporate logos.

While the reason for this post disaster touch-up is obvious, the companies claim that it's "because the plane no longer belongs to the airline, ownership is transfered to the insurance underwriters." Yeah, right.

Like this minor KLM wreck:

Presto change-o, it's just another generic Boeing:

Now...judging from this empty sign frame above the mine entrance, It seems to me Bob Murray may not want the name of his company to be forever associated with mine safety through archived disaster photos:

Bob Murray "is only concerned with two things"
Public Relations....and his money

2. Interesting
I wonder if early footage from the mine shows something in that spot.

3. Oh. My. Lord.
:wow: :wow:

I didn't know companies did this, painted over their accidents and mistakes. But now that I think about it, it fits perfectly with corporate behavior.

Thanks for enlightening me. :-(

7. I thought it was just a rail too
the information on the planes is very interesting.

I just assumed that it was a railing but never could figure out WHY it would be there-maybe people walk across there all the time so that is put up like yellow/black striped tape is on a step up or step down

9. Look at another angle
With all due respect, I still think it's an empty sign support to ID the entrance and Company name. (wasn't easy to find this perspective)

5. "Bob Murray may not want the name of his company to be forever associated with mine safety...
or retreat mining practices that caused the collapse and the earthquake.

"Despite Bob Murray's loud denials, his company is on record with the Utah Geological Survey that removing pillar supports has been going on in his Crandall Canyon mine since 2005 - under the former owners as well as under Murray...."

6. It looks like a rail to me as well
Is there another photo showing that a sign was there before? I don't doubt Bob Murray would like to cover up the name of the mine, but I'm just not so sure the photo shows that.

10. See this angle
One would have to crawl under the rail or step over the back supports to stand safely behind the railing, for whatever reason. (This angle wasn't easy to find and capture)

I still believe Murray sent a laboror out to tear down the entrance ID before he did anything else that day.
